Blessing over the Waving Lulav

Hold the lulav on your right hand then the erog on your left hand when reciting the Bracha the erog facing upside down the pitom facing downward.

 

Baruch atah Adonay, Eloheinu Melekh haolam, Asher kidshanu bímitzvotav, vítzivanu al nítilat lulav

Blessed are You Adonay our Elohim, King of the universe, who has commanded us to lift up the lulav.

After reciting the Bracha turn the erog from down ward to upwards. pitom face up.

 

REMEMBER WHEN WAVING LULAV ALWAYS REMAIN FACING TOWARD THE EAST.

BIBLICAL CARDINAL ORDER  EAST SOUTH WEST NORTH - UP  AND DOWN

EAST == INCLINE THE LULAV FORWARD TOWARD THE EAST (FRONTAL) == SAY HODU = THEN SHAKE THE LULAV AND EROG

SOUTH == INCLINE THE LULAV TOWARD THE RIGHT TOWARD SOUTH  = SAY KI = THEN SHAKE THE LULAV AND  EROG

WEST == INCLINE THE LULAV REST ON YOUR RIGHT SHOULDER POINTING TOWARD THE WEST (BACK) = SAY LE OLAM = THEN SHAKE THE LULAV AND EROG

NORTH == INCLINE THE LULAV TOWARD THE LEFT POINTING TOWARD THE NORTH = SAY HASDO

UP = LIFT THE LULAV IN VERTICAL GAZING UP TO THE HEAVEN.==THEN SHAKE THE LULAV AND  EROG

DOWN== POINT THE LULAV DOWN WARD LOOKING DOWN ON EARTH == THEN SHAKE THE LULAV AND  EROG

Blessing for sitting in the sukkah (booth) :
