Baruch Atah HaShem (Adonai) me'kadesh ha Shabbat.
Blessed are You Adonay Eloheinu, King of the Universe, who has taken a delight in us.
In love and favour You have given us the Set apart Shabbat as a heritage, a reminder of Your work of Creation, and as the first of our sacred days recalling our departure from Mitzrayim (land of Restriction). For You have chosen us and sanctified us from among all peoples, and in love and favour given us the Shabbat as a joyous heritage.
Blessed are You Adonay, who makes holy the Shabbat.
