The Council at Yerushalayim

Circumcision question settled

15:1 And certain anashim which came down from Yehudah taught the brethren, [and said],

"Except ye be Brit Milah after the manner of Mosheh, ye cannot be saved."

15:2 When therefore Paulos and Bar Nabba had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paulos and Bar Nabba, and certain other of them, should go up to Yerushalayim unto the shlichim and Zekenim about this question.

15:3 And being brought on their way by the assembly, they passed through Phoinike and Shomron, declaring the conversion of the Goyim: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

15:4 And when they were come to Yerushalayim, they were received of the assembly, and [of] the shlichim and Zekenim, and they declared all things that Elohim (אלהים) had done with them.

15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Perushim which believed, saying:

" That it was needful to Brit Milah them, and to command [them] to shomer the Torah of Mosheh.

15:6 And the shlichim and Zekenim came together for to consider of this matter.

15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Kefa (פטרוס) rose up, and said unto them, anashim [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago Elohim (אלהים) made choice among us, that the Goyim by my mouth should hear the word of the good news, and believe.

15:8 And Elohim (אלהים), which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Ruach HaKodesh, even as [he did] unto us;

15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye Elohim (אלהים), to put a yoke upon the neck of the taught ones, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

15:11 But we believe that through the grace of Adonay Yeshua (ישוע) Moshiach we shall be saved, even as they.

15:12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Bar Nabba and Paulos, declaring what miracles and wonders Elohim (אלהים) had wrought among the Goyim by them.

Yaakov announces decision of council

1. the outcalling of Goyim agrees with promises to Yisrael

15:13 And after they had held their peace, Ya'akov (יעקב) answered, saying, Anashim, Achim b'Moshiach, listened unto me:

15:14 Shimon hath declared how Elohim (אלהים) at the first did visit the Goyim, to take out of them a people for His Name.

15:15 And to this agree the words of the Neviim;

as it is written:

15:16

15:17

15:18 Known unto Elohim (אלהים) are all His works from the beginning of the world.

Introduction of Basic Torah principle for Goyim as a startup

15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Goyim are turned to Elohim (אלהים):

15:20 But that we write unto them:

That they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.

15:21 For Mosheh of old time hath in every city them that proclaim him, being read in the Shuls every Yom Shabbat.

15:22 Then pleased it the shlichim and Zekenim, with the whole assembly, to send chosen anashim of their own company to Antiocheia with Paulos and Bar Nabba; [namely], Yehudah surnamed Bar Sabas, and Silas, chief anashim among the brethren:

15:23 And they wrote [letters] by them after this manner; The shlichim and Zekenim and brethren [send] greeting unto the brethren which are of the Goyim in Antiocheia and Syria and Kilikia:

15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, [Ye must] be Brit Milah, and observe the Torah: which we did not command them:

15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen anashim unto you with our beloved Bar Nabba and Paulos,

15:26 anashim that have hazarded their lives for The Name of Adoneinu Yeshua (ישוע) Moshiach.

15:27 We have sent therefore Yehudah and Silas, who shall also tell [you] the same things by mouth.

15:28 For it seemed good to the Ruach HaKodesh, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Yehudah and Silas go to Antiocheia

15:30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antiocheia: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

15:31 [Which] when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

15:32 And Yehudah and Silas, being navis also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed [them].

15:33 And after they had tarried [there] a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the shlichim.

15:34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

teaching and Proclaiming the Word of Adonay

The Second Emissary Journey

Paulos and Silas leave

Bar-Nabba  and Markos go to Kupros

15:35 Paulos also and Bar Nabba continued in Antiocheia, teaching and proclaiming the word of Adonay, with many others also.

15:36 And some days after Paulos said unto Bar Nabba, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have proclaimed the word of Adonay, [and see] how they do.

15:37 And Bar Nabba determined to take with them Yochanan (יוחנן), whose surname was Markos.

15:38 But Paulos thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphulia, and went not with them to the work.

15:39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Bar Nabba took Markos, and sailed unto Kuprios;

15:40 And Paulos chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of Elohim (אלהים).

15:41 And he went through Syria and Kilikia, confirming the Assembies.
