1:1 Sefer toldot Yeshua (ישוע) Moshiach Ben Davyid, Ben Avraham.
1:2 Avraham begat Yitz'chak; and Yitz'chak begat Ya'akov; and Ya'akov begat Y'hudah and his brethren;
1:3 And Y'hudah begat Peretz and Zerach of Tamar; Peretz begat Hetzron; Hetzron begat Ram;
1:4 And Ram begat Amminadav; Amminadav begat Nachshon; Nachshon begat Salmon;
1:5 And Salmon begat Bo'az of Rachav; Bo'az begat Oved of Rut; and Oved begat Yishai;
1:6 And Yishai begat David the king; David the king begat Shlomo of her [that had been the wife] of Uriyah;
1:7 And Shlomo begat Rechav'am; Rechav'am begat Aviyah; and Aviyah begat Asa;
1:8 And Asa begat Y'hoshafat; Y'hoshafat begat Yoram; and Yoram begat Uziyahu (Azayahu) ; (2 kings 15, 1 Chr 3:11; 2 Chr 26:1-15)
1:9 And Uziyahu begat Yotam; Yotam begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Chizkiyahu;
1:10 And Chizkiyahu begat M'nasheh; and M'nasheh begat Amon; and Amon begat Yoshiyahu;
1:11 And Yoshiyahu ...the father of Yecon'yah* (Ben Yehoyakin) and his brethren, about the time they were Exile [the Golus] to Bavel:
1:12 And after they were brought to Bavel, Yecon'yah* begat Sh'altiel; and Sh'altiel ...begat Zeruv Bavel;
1:13 And Zeruv Bavel... begat Avihud; and Avihud begat Elyakim; and Elyakim begat Azur;
1:14 And Azur begat Tzadok; and Tzadok begat Yakhin; and Yakhin begat El'ichud;
1:15 And El'ichud begat El'azar; and El'azar begat Mattan; and Mattan begat Ya'akov;
1:16 And Ya'akov begat Yosef the husband of Miryam, of whom was born Yeshua, who is called Moshiach.
1:17 Ve hinei Kol-ha dorot:
From Avraham to David [are] arba'ah asar (14)
dorot; and
From David until the carrying away into
Bavel [are] arba'ah asar dorot; and
From the golus (exile)
into Bavel unto Moshiach [are] *arba'ah asar dorot.
1:18 Now the birth of Yeshua (ישוע) Moshiach was on this wise: When as his mother Miryam was espoused to Yosef, before they came together, she was found with child of the Ruach HaKoDesh.
1:19 Her shidduch, Yosef being a tzaddik, and not willing to humiliate her publicly, planned to deal with the Get (divorce, dismiss) in private arrangement.
1:20 But while Yosef thought on these things:
Hinnei, the messenger of YHWH (יהוה) appeared unto him in a dream, saying:
"Yosef, thou Ben David, fear not to take unto thee Miryam thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is Ruach HaKoDesh."
1:21 And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shall call His Name Yeshua (ישוע) : for He will bring His people yeshuah (rescue, salvation, deliverance) from their peyshaim (rebellions, transgressions, sins).
1:22 Now all this occurred so that which was spoken by
Elohim (אלהים ar.MarYah) through the Navi might be fulfilled,
1:23 Hinnei, ha almah (virgin, betulah) shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Ben, and they shall call His Name Immanu'el (עמּנוּאל) , which being interpreted is, EL (אל) with us. (YeshaYahu 7:14)
1:24 Then Yosef being raised from sleep did as the messenger of YHWH (יהוה) had bidden him, and took unto him his Kallah (wife):
1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn Son: and he called His Name Yeshua (ישוע) .
