17:1 (17:16)(v)
And YHWH (יהוה) spake unto Mosheh, saying:
17:2 (17:17) Speak unto the benai Yisrael, and take of every one of them a rod according to the Bayit [their] avot, of all their sarim according to the Bayit their avot twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.
17:3 (17:18) And thou shalt write Aharon's name upon the rod of Levy: for one rod [shall be] for the head of the Bayit their avot.
17:4 (17:19) And thou shalt lay them up in the oleh Moed before the edut, where I will meet with you.
17:5 (17:20) And it shall come to pass, [that] the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the telunnah (murmurings) of the benai Yisrael, whereby they murmur against you.
17:6 (17:21) And Mosheh spake unto the benai Yisrael, and every one of their sarim gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their avot' houses, [even] twelve rods: and the rod of Aharon [was] among their rods.
17:7 (17:22) And Mosheh laid up the rods before YHWH (יהוה) in the tabernacle of witness.
17:8 (17:23) And it came to pass, that on the morrow Mosheh went into the tabernacle of witness; and, Hinei, the rod of Aharon for the Bayit Levy was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
17:9 (17:24) And Mosheh brought out all the rods from before YHWH (יהוה) unto all the benai Yisra'el: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
17:10 (17:25)(vi)
And YHWH (יהוה) said unto Mosheh:
Bring Aharon's rod again before the edut, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their telunnah (murmurings) from me, that they die not.
17:11 (17:26)And Mosheh did [so]: as YHWH (יהוה) commanded him, so did he.
17:12 (17:27)And the benai Yisrael spake unto Mosheh, saying, Hinei, we die, we perish, we all perish.
17:13 (17:28)Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the mishkan of YHWH (יהוה) shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
