26:1 (25:19) And it came to pass after the plague, that YHWH (יהוה) spake unto Mosheh and unto El Azar (אלעזר) Ben Aharon the Kohen, saying,
26:2 Take the sum of all the congregation of benai Yisrael, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their Avot' Bayit, all that are able to go to war in Yisrael.
26:3 And Mosheh and El Azar (אלעזר) the Kohen spake with them in the plains of Mo'av by Yarden [near] Yericho, saying,
26:4 (ii) [Take the census of the people], from twenty years old and upward; as YHWH (יהוה) commanded Mosheh and benai Yisrael, which went forth out of Eretz Mitzrayim.
26:5 Reuven, the eldest Ben Yisrael: benai Reuven; Hanoch, [of whom cometh] Mishpakhat of the Hanochites: of Pallu, Mishpakhat of the Palluites:
26:6 Of Chetzron, Mishpakhat of the Chetzronites: of Karmi, Mishpakhat of the Karmites.
26:7 These [are] the mishpekhot of the Reuvenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
26:8 And benai Pallu; Eliav.
26:9 And benai Eliav; Nemuel, and Datan, and Aviram. This [is that] Datan and Aviram, [which were] famous in the congregation, who strove against Mosheh and against Aharon in the company of Korah, when they strove against YHWH (יהוה):
26:10 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
26:11 Notwithstanding benai Korah died not.
26:12 benai Shimon after their mishpekhot: of Nemuel, Mishpakhat of the Nemuelites: of Yamin, Mishpakhat of the Yaminites: of Yachin, Mishpakhat of the Yachinites:
26:13 Of Zerah, Mishpakhat of the Zarhites: of Shaul, Mishpakhat of the Shaulites.
26:14 These [are] the mishpekhot of the Shimonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
26:15 benai Gad after their mishpekhot: of Zephon, Mishpakhat of the Zephonites: of Haggi, Mishpakhat of the Haggites: of Shuni, Mishpakhat of the Shunites:
26:16 Of Ozni, Mishpakhat of the Oznites: of Eri, Mishpakhat of the Erites:
26:17 Of Arod, Mishpakhat of the Arodites: of Areli, Mishpakhat of the Arelites.
26:18 These [are] the mishpekhot of benai Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
26:19 benai Yehudah [were] Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Kenaan.
26:20 And benai Yehudah after their mishpekhot were; of Shelah, Mishpakhat of the Shelanites: of Pharez, Mishpakhat of the Pharzites: of Zerah, Mishpakhat of the Zarhites.
26:21 And benai Pharez were; of Chetzron, Mishpakhat of the Chetzronites: of Hamul, Mishpakhat of the Hamulites.
26:22 These [are] the mishpekhot of Yehudah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
26:23 [Of] benai Yissakhar after their mishpekhot: [of] Tola, Mishpakhat of the Tolaites: of Pua, Mishpakhat of the Punites:
26:24 Of Yashuv, Mishpakhat of the Yashuvites: of Shimron, Mishpakhat of the Shimronites.
26:25 These [are] the mishpekhot of Yissakhar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26:26 [Of] benai Zevulun after their mishpekhot: of Sered, Mishpakhat of the Sardites: of Elon, Mishpakhat of the Elonites: of Yahleel, Mishpakhat of the Yahleelites.
26:27 These [are] the mishpekhot of the Zevulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
26:28 benai Yosef after their mishpekhot [were] Manasseh and Efrayim.
26:29 Of benai Manasseh: of Machir, Mishpakhat of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gil'ad: of Gil'ad [come] Mishpakhat of the Gil'adites.
26:30 These [are] benai Gil'ad: [of] Yeezer, Mishpakhat of the Yeezerites: of Helek, Mishpakhat of the Helekites:
26:31 And [of] Asriel, Mishpakhat of the Asrielites: and [of] Shechem, Mishpakhat of the Shechemites:
26:32 And [of] Shemida, Mishpakhat of the Shemidaites: and [of] Hepher, Mishpakhat of the Hepherites.
26:33 And Zelophehad Ben Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the banot Zelophehad [were] Mahlah, and Noach, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
26:34 These [are] the mishpekhot of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
26:35 These [are] benai Efrayim after their mishpekhot: of Shuthelah, Mishpakhat of the Shutalhites: of Becher, Mishpakhat of the Bachrites: of Tahan, Mishpakhat of the Tahanites.
26:36 And these [are] benai Shutelah: of Eran, Mishpakhat of the Eranites.
26:37 These [are] the mishpekhot of benai Efrayim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These [are] benai Yosef after their mishpekhot.
26:38 benai BenYamin after their mishpekhot: of Bela, Mishpakhat of the Belaites: of Ashbel, Mishpakhat of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, Mishpakhat of the Ahiramites:
26:39 Of Shupham, Mishpakhat of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, Mishpakhat of the Huphamites.
26:40 And benai Bela were Ard and Naaman: [of Ard], Mishpakhat of the Ardites: [and] of Naaman, Mishpakhat of the Naamites.
26:41 These [are] benai BenYamin after their mishpekhot: and they that were numbered of them [were] forty and five thousand and six hundred.
26:42 These [are] benai Dan after their mishpekhot: of Shuham, Mishpakhat of the Shuhamites. These [are] the mishpekhot of Dan after their mishpekhot.
26:43 All the mishpekhot of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, [were] threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
26:44 [Of] benai Asher after their mishpekhot: of Jimna, Mishpakhat of the Yimnites: of Yesui, Mishpakhat of the Yesuites: of Beriah, Mishpakhat of the Beriites.
26:45 Of benai Beriah: of Heber, Mishpakhat of the Heberites: of Malchiel, Mishpakhat of the Malchielites.
26:46 And the name of bat Asher [was] Sarah.
26:47 These [are] the mishpekhot of benai Asher according to those that were numbered of them; [who were] fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
26:48 [Of] benai Naftali after their mishpekhot: of Yahzeel, Mishpakhat of the Yahzeelites: of Guni, Mishpakhat of the Gunites:
26:49 Of Yezer, Mishpakhat of the Yezerites: of Shillem, Mishpakhat of the Shillemites.
26:50 These [are] the mishpekhot of Naftali according to their mishpekhot: and they that were numbered of them [were] forty and five thousand and four hundred.
26:51 These [were] the numbered of benai Yisrael, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
And YHWH (יהוה) spake unto Mosheh, saying:
26:53 Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
26:54 To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
26:55 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their Avot they shall inherit.
26:56 According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
26:57 And these [are] they that were numbered of the Levytes after their mishpekhot: of Gershon, Mishpakhat of the Gershonites: of Kohath, Mishpakhat of the Kohathites: of Merari, Mishpakhat of the Merarites.
26:58 These [are] the mishpekhot of the Levytes: Mishpakhat of the Libnites, Mishpakhat of the Hebronites, Mishpakhat of the Mahlites, Mishpakhat of the Mushites, Mishpakhat of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
26:59 And the name of Amram's wife [was] Jochebed, bat Levy, whom [her mother] bare to Levy in Mitzrayim: and she bare unto Amram Aharon and Mosheh, and Miriyam their sister.
26:60 And unto Aharon was born Nadav, and Avihu, El Azar (אלעזר), and Ithamar.
26:61 And Nadav and Avihu died, when they offered strange fire before YHWH (יהוה).
26:62 And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among benai Yisrael, because there was no inheritance given them among benai Yisrael.
26:63 These [are] they that were numbered by Mosheh and El Azar (אלעזר) the Kohen, who numbered benai Yisrael in the plains of Mo'av by Yarden [near] Yericho.
26:64 But among these there was not a man of them whom Mosheh and Aharon the Kohen numbered, when they numbered benai Yisrael Bamidar Sinay.
26:65 For YHWH (יהוה) had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Kalev Ben Yefunneh, and Yehoshua Ben Nun.
