23:1
(23:2)

Lo-yavo fetzua-dakah ukherut shafkha bikhal YEHOVAH:
No one wounded crushed or whose member is cut off does enter the assembly of YEHOVAH (יהוה).
23:2 (23:3) A mamzer (illegitimate birth) shall not enter into the kahal YEHOVAH (יהוה); even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the kahal YEHOVAH (יהוה).
23:3 (23:4) An Amoni or Moavi shall not enter into the kahal YEHOVAH (יהוה); even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the kahal YEHOVAH (יהוה) le olam va ed:
23:4 (23:5) Because they met you not with lechem and with mayim in the way, when ye came forth out of Mitzrayim; and because they hired against thee Balaam Ben Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
23:5(23:6) Nevertheless YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha would not hearken unto Balaam; but YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha loved thee.
23:6(23:7) You shall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days forever.

23:7(23:8)(iv) Sins of the fathers
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he [is] thy brother:
Thou shalt not abhor a Mitzrite; because thou wast a stranger in his eretz.
23:8(23:9) The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the kahal YEHOVAH (יהוה) in their third generation.
23:9(23:10) When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.
23:10(23:11) If there be among you any man, that is tahor by reason of nocturnal emission that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
23:11(23:12) But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash [himself] with mayim: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp [again].
23:12(23:13) Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and [p192j] shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
23:14(23:15) For YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be kadosh: that he see no ervat davar (disgusting, indecent behavior) in thee, and turn away from thee.
23:15(23:16) Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the eved which is escaped from his master unto thee:
23:16(23:17) He shall dwell with thee, [even] among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy she'arim (gates), where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.
23:17(23:18) There shall be no kedeshah (ritual prostitute) of the banot Yisrael, nor a Sedomite of the benai Yisrael.
23:18(23:19) Thou shalt not bring the hire of a kedeshah, or the price of a *dog, into the bayit YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha for any neder: for even both these [are] to'avat (abomination) unto YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha.
23:19(23:20) Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:
23:20(23:21) Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the eretz whither thou goest to possess it.
23:21(23:22) When thou shalt vow a neder unto YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
23:22(23:23) But if thou shalt forbear to neder (vow), it shall be no sin in thee.
23:23(23:24)
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; [even] a terumah offering, according as thou hast vowed unto YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

23:25(23:26) When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.
Various persons were barred from entering the assembly of Adonai , that is, from full rights as citizens and worshipers:
(1) a man whose reproductive organs were damaged or missing;
(2) an illegitimate person—i.e., one born out of wedlock;
(3) an Ammonite or Moabite;
(4) an Edomite or Egyptian. Verse 4 says that Moab did not "meet the Israelites with food and drink," whereas Deu_2:29 implies that certain Moabites sold food supplies to the Jews. "To meet . . . with bread and water" is an idiomatic expression meaning to give a hospitable reception. This the Moabites did not do.
The eunuch was excluded from the congregation. The illegitimate person, the Moabite, and the Ammonite were barred from the assembly . . . to the tenth generation.
The Edomite and the Egyptian could enter after three generations. However, there were exceptions to these general rules when individuals sought Adonai.
Among David's mighty men could be found both an Ammonite and a Moabite (1Chr 11:39, 1 Chr 11:46).
mamzer ממזר A masculine noun identifying an illegitimate child mixed population (figuratively) born of a Jewish father and a heathen mother or visa versa

Mitzvah p192j, p 193 Both of these mitzvot teach us about proper disposal of human wastes.We must realize YEHOVAH Elohim is in the midst of our assemblies while we are at war against heavenly enemies. Thus we must keep ourselves clean.
