Yoshiyahu Ben Amon reign @ 8 for 32 yrs - Yashar

(2 Kings 22:1-2)

34:1 Yoshiyahu [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Yerushalayim one and thirty years.

34:2 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of YHWH (יהוה), and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined [neither] to the right hand, nor to the left.

34:3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the Elohim (אלהים) of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Yehudah and Yerushalayim from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

34:4 And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that [were] on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust [of them], and strowed [it] upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.

34:5 And he burnt the bones of the Kohanim upon their altars, and cleansed Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

34:6 And [so did he] in the cities of Menasheh, and Efrayim, and Shim'on, even unto Naftali, with their mattocks round about.

34:7 And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Yisra'el, he returned to Yerushalayim.

34:8 Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan Ben Atzalyahu, and Ma’aseiyahu (מעשׂיה) the governor of the city, and Yoach Ben Yoachaz the recorder, to repair Beit YHWH (יהוה) Elohav.

34:9 And when they came to Chilkiyahu Kohen ha Gadol, they delivered the money that was brought into Beit Elohim (אלהים), which the Levi'im that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Menasheh and Efrayim, and of all the remnant of Yisra'el, and of all Yehudah and Benyamin; and they returned to Yerushalayim.

34:10 And they put [it] in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of Beit YHWH (יהוה), and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in Beit YHWH (יהוה), to repair and amend the house:

34:11 Even to the artificers and builders gave they [it], to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Yehudah had destroyed.

34:12 And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them [were] Yachat and Obadyah, the Levi'im, of the Banim Merari; and Zekharyahu and Meshullam, of the Banim the Kohathites, to set [it] forward; and [other of] the Levi'im, all that could skill of instruments of musick.

34:13 Also [they were] over the bearers of burdens, and [were] overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levi'im [there were] scribes, and officers, and porters.

34:14 And when they brought out the money that was brought into Beit YHWH (יהוה), Chilkiyahu ha Kohen found a sefer ha Torah YHWH (יהוה) [given] by Mosheh.

34:15 And Chilkiyahu answered and said to Shaphan ha sofer, I have found ha sefer the Torah in Beit YHWH (יהוה). And Chilkiyahu delivered the Sefer to Shaphan.

34:16 And Shaphan carried the Sefer to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do [it].

34:17 And they have gathered together the money that was found in Beit YHWH (יהוה), and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.

34:18 Then Shaphan ha sofer told the king, saying, Chilkiyahu ha Kohen hath given me a Sefer. And Shaphan read it before the king.

34:19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the Torah, that he rent his clothes.

34:20 And the king commanded Chilkiyahu, and Ahikam Ben Shaphan, and Abdon Ben Mikah, and Shaphan ha sofer, and Asayah a servant of the king's, saying,

34:21 Go, enquire of YHWH (יהוה) for me, and for them that are left in Yisra'el and in Yehudah, concerning the words of the Sefer that is found: for great [is] the wrath of YHWH (יהוה) that is poured out upon us, because our avot have not kept the word of YHWH (יהוה), to do after all that is written in this Sefer.

34:22 And Chilkiyahu, and [they] that the king [had appointed], went to Huldah ha Neviah (נביאה), the wife of Shallum Ben Tikvat, Ben Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Yerushalayim in the college:) and they spake to her to that [effect].

34:23 And she answered them:

Thus saith YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el:

Tell ye the man that sent you to Me,

34:24 Thus saith YHWH (יהוה):

Hinnei, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, [even] all the curses that are written in the Sefer which they have read before the melekh Yehudah:

34:25 Because they have forsaken Me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore My wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.

34:26 And as for the melekh Yehudah, who sent you to enquire of YHWH (יהוה), so shall ye say unto him,

Thus saith YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el [concerning] the words which thou hast heard;

34:27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before Elohim (אלהים), when thou heardest His words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rent thy clothes, and weep before Me; I have even heard [thee] also, saith YHWH (יהוה).

34:28 Hinnei, I will gather thee to Avichas, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

34:29 Then the king sent and gathered together all the Ziknei of Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

34:30 And the king went up into Beit YHWH (יהוה), and all the men of Yehudah, and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and the Kohanim, and the Levi'im, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of ha sefer the covenant that was found in Beit YHWH (יהוה).

34:31 And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before YHWH (יהוה), to walk after YHWH (יהוה), and to keep His mitzvot, and His edot (testimonies), and His chukkot, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this Sefer.

34:32 And he caused all that were present in Yerushalayim and Benyamin to stand [to it]. And the inhabitants of Yerushalayim did according to the covenant of Elohim (אלהים), the Elohim (אלהים) of their avot.

34:33 And Yoshiyahu took away all the abominations out of all the countries that [pertained] to the benai Yisra'el, and made all that were present in Yisra'el to serve, [even] to serve YHWH (יהוה) their Elohim (אלהים). [And] all his days they departed not from following YHWH (יהוה), the Elohim (אלהים) of their avot.
