Yoash Ben Yehoachaz reign @ 25 yrs old for 29 years

14:1 In the second year of Yoash Ben Yehoachaz melekh Yisra'el reigned Amatzyahu Ben Yoash melekh Yehudah.

14:2 He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Yerushalayim. And his mother's name [was] Yehoaddan of Yerushalayim.

14:3 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of YHVH (יהוה), yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Yoash his father did.

14:4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

14:5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the melekh his father.

14:6 But the Benai the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in sefer ha Torah of Mosheh, wherein YHVH (יהוה) commanded, saying, The avot shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the avot; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

14:7 He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Yokte'el unto this day.

14:8 Then Amatzyahu sent messengers to Yehoash, Ben Yehoachaz Ben Yehu, melekh Yisra'el, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

14:9 And Yehoash the melekh Yisra'el sent to Amatzyahu melekh Yehudah, saying, The thistle that [was] in Levanon sent to the cedar that [was] in Levanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that [was] in Levanon, and trode down the thistle.

14:10 Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory [of this], and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to [thy] hurt, that thou shouldest fall, [even] thou, and Yehudah with thee?

14:11 But Amatzyahu would not hear. Therefore Yehoash melekh Yisra'el went up; and he and Amatzyahu melekh Yehudah looked one another in the face at Beit Shemesh, which [belongeth] to Yehudah.

14:12 And Yehudah was put to the worse before Yisra'el; and they fled every man to their tents.

14:13 And Yehoash melekh Yisra'el took Amatzyahu melekh Yehudah, Ben Yehoash Ben Achazyahu, at Beit Shemesh, and came to Yerushalayim, and brake down the wall of Yerushalayim from the gate of Efrayim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

14:14 And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the Beit YHVH (יהוה), and in the treasures of the beit hamelekh and benai ha ta'aruvot (hostages), and returned to Shomron.

14:15 Now the rest of the acts of Yehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amatzyahu melekh Yehudah, [are] they not written in the sefer Divrei ha Yamin (chronicles) of the Melkhei Yisra'el?

14:16 And Yehoash slept with his avot, and was buried in Shomron with the Melkhei Yisra'el; and Yarov`am his son reigned in his stead.

14:17 And Amatzyahu Ben Yoash melekh Yehudah lived after the death of Yehoash Ben Yehoachaz melekh Yisra'el fifteen years.

14:18 And the rest of the acts of Amatzyahu, [are] they not written in the sefer Divrei ha Yamin (chronicles) of the Melkhei Yehudah?

14:19 Now they made a conspiracy against him in Yerushalayim: and he fled to Lakhish; but they sent after him to Lakhish, and slew him there.

14:20 And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Yerushalayim with his avot in the city of David.

14:21 And all the people of Yehudah took Azaryah, which [was] sixteen years old, and made him melekh instead of his father Amatzyahu.

14:22 He built Eilat, and restored it to Yehudah, after that the melekh slept with his avot.

Yarave'am II Reigns in Yisrael

Bishnat chamesh-'esreh shanah, la'Amatzyahu ven-Yov'ash melekh Yehudah; malakh Yarave'am ben-Yov'ash melech-Yisra'el beshomerovn, arba'im ve'achat shanah.

In the fifteenth year of Amatzyahu Ben Yoash melekh Yehudah Yarov`am Ben Yoash melekh Yisra'el began to reign in Shomron, [and reigned] forty-one years.

14:24 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of YHVH (יהוה): he departed not from all the sins of Yarov`am Ben Nevat, who made Yisra'el to sin.

Hu, heshiv et-gevul Yisra'el, milevov chamat ad-yam ha'aravah; kidvar YHVH Elohei Yisra'el, asher diber, beyad-'avdov Yovnah ven-'Amitai haNavi, asher miGat hachefer

He restored the border of Yisra'el from Levov-Chamat as far as the Sea of the Aravah, according to the word of  YHVH (יהוה) Elohei  Yisra'el, which he spoke by His servant Yonah, Ben Amittai, the prophet, who was from Gat HaChefer.

14:26 For YHVH (יהוה) saw the affliction of Yisra'el, [that it was] very bitter: for [there was] not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Yisra'el.

14:27 And YHVH (יהוה) said not that he would blot out the name of Yisra'el from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Yarov`am Ben Yoash.

14:28 Now the rest of the acts of Yarov`am, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Dammesek, and Hamat, [which belonged] to Yehudah, for Yisra'el, are they not written in the sefer Divrei ha Yamin (chronicles) of the Melkhei Yisra'el?

14:29 And Yarov`am slept with his avot, [even] with the Melkhei Yisra'el; and Zacharyah his son reigned in his stead.
