23:3  You shall not show partiality to a poor man in his dispute.

23:4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.

Hinnei, I send an messenger (מלאך) before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for My Name [is] in him.

23:22 But if you shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.

23:23 For Mine messenger (מלאך) shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Kenaanites, the Hivites, and the Yevusites:

and I will cut them off.

23:24 you shall not bow down to their 'mighty ones', nor serve them, nor do after their works: but you shall utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

23:25 And you shall serve YHWH (יהוה) your Elohim (אלהים), and He shall bless you bread, and your water; And I shall remove sickness from your midst.

None shall miscarry or be barren in your land. I shall fill the number of your days.

23:27 I will send My fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

23:28 And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Kenaanite, and the Hittite, from before you.

23:29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against you.

23:30 By little and little I will drive them out from before you, until you be increased, and inherit the land.

23:31 And I will set your bounds from the Yam Suf even to the sea of the Pelishtim, and from the desert to the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and you shall drive them out before you.

23:32 you shall make no covenant with them, nor with their 'might ones'.

23:33 They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me: for if you serve their 'mighty ones', it will surely be a snare to you.

The Gemara deduced from the parallel use of the word “appear” in Shemot 23:14 and Devarim 16:15 (regarding appearance offerings) on the one hand, and in Devarim 31:10–12 (regarding the great assembly) on the other hand, that the criteria for who participated in the great assembly also applied to limit who needed to bring appearance offerings. A Baraita deduced from the words “that they may hear” in Deuteronomy 31:12 that a deaf person was not required to appear at the assembly. And the Baraita deduced from the words “that they may learn” in Deuteronomy 31:12 that a mute person was not required to appear at the assembly. But the Gemara questioned the conclusion that one who cannot talk cannot learn,
