The repentance of the people 33:1-6

33:1 And ADONAI (יהוה) said to Moshe:

Depart, [and] go up hence, you and the people which you have brought up out of the eretz Mitzrayim, to the land which I sware to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaakov, saying, to your zera will I give it:

33:2 And I will send an messenger (מלאך) before thee; and I will drive out the Kenaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Yevusite:

33:3 to a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for you [art] a stiffnecked people: lest I consume you in the way.

33:4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.

33:5 For ADONAI (יהוה) had said to Moshe:

Say to the benai Yisrael, You [are] a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of you in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what to do to you.

33:6  וַיִּתְנַצְּלוּ בְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת-עֶדְיָם מֵהַר חוֹרֵב׃

And the Benai Yisrael stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horev.

Moshe' Tent of meeting 7 -11

33:7 And Moshe took the ohel (tent), and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Ohel Moed (tent of meeting). And it came to pass, [that] every one which sought ADONAI (יהוה) went out to the Ohel Moed (tent of meeting), which [was] without the camp.

33:8 And it came to pass, when Moshe went out to the ohel, [that] all the people rose up, and stood every man [at] his tent door, and looked after Moshe, until he was gone into the ohel.

33:9 And it came to pass, as Moshe entered into the ohel, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood [at] the door of the ohel, and [ADONAI (יהוה)] talked with Moshe.

33:10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand [at] the ohel door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man [in] his tent door.

33:11 And ADONAI (יהוה) spoke to Moshe face to face, as a man speaks to His friend. And he turned again into the camp: but His servant Yehoshua Ben Nun, a young man, departed not out of the ohel.

33:12(iii) And Moshe said to ADONAI (יהוה):

See, you say to me, Bring up this people: and you have not let me know whom you wilt send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name, and you have also found grace in my sight.

33:13 Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found grace in your sight, show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find grace in your sight: and consider that this nation [is] Your people.

33:14 And he said, My presence shall go [with thee], and I will give you rest.

33:15 And he said to him, If your presence go not [with me], carry us not up hence.

33:16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and your people have found grace in your sight? [is it] not in that you goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and your people, from all the people that [are] upon the face of the earth.

33:17 (iv)

And ADONAI (יהוה) said to Moshe:

I will do this thing also that you have spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name.

The Shekinah glory of HaShem

33:18 And he said, I beseech you, show me Your Kavod.

33:19 And He said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the Name of ADONAI (יהוה) before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show chesed on whom I will show chesed.

33:20 And he said, You cannot see My face: for there shall no man see Me, and live.

33:21 And ADONAI (יהוה) said:
Hinei, [there is] a place by Me, and
you shall stand upon a rock:

33:22 And it shall come to pass, while My Kavod passes by, that I will put you in a clift of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by:

33:23 And I will take away Mine hand, and you shall see My back parts: but My face shall not be seen.
