119:1 אשׁרי תמימי־דרך ההלכים בתורת יהוה׃

Ashrei temimei-darekh haholkhim betorat YEHOVAH:

Happy are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the Torat of YEHOVAH!

119:2 אשׁרי נצרי עדתיו בכל־לב ידרשׁוהו׃

Ashrei notzrei edotav bekhol-levy idreshuhu:

Happy are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!

119:3 אף לא־פעלו עולה בדרכיו הלכו׃

Af lo-faalu avla bidrakhav halakhu:

Yes, they also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways.

119:4 אתה צויתה פקדיך לשׁמר מאד׃

Atah tzivitah pikudeikha lishmor meod:

You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently.

119:5 אחלי יכנו דרכי לשׁמר חקיך׃

Akhalai yikonu derakhai lishmor chukeikha:

Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes!

119:6 אז לא־אבושׁ בהביטי אל־כל־מצותיך׃

Az lo-evosh behabiti el-kol-mitzvoteikha:

Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.

119:7 אודך בישׁר לבב בלמדי משׁפטי צדקך׃

Adkha beisher levav belamdi mishpetei tzidkekha:

I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.

119:8 את־חקיך אשׁמר אל־תעזבני עד־מאד׃

Et-khukeikha eshmor al-taazveni ad-meod:

I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!

Binah, understanding, wisdom, Household, family Beresheet, yoke together; tent, Cleansing

119:9 במה יזכה־נער את־ארחו לשׁמר כדברך׃

Bameh yezakeh-naar et-arkho lishmor kidvarekha:

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

119:10 בכל־לבי דרשׁתיך אל־תשׁגני ממצותיך׃

Bekhol-li biderash tikha al-tashgeni mimitzvoteikha:

With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

119:11 בלבי צפנתי אמרתך למען לא אחטא־לך׃

Belibi tzafanti imratekha lemaan lo ekheta-lakh:

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

119:12ברוך אתה יהוה למדני חקיך׃

Barukh Atah YEHOVAH lamdeni chukeikha:

Blessed art thou, O YEHOVAH: teach me thy statutes.

119:13 בשׂפתי ספרתי כל משׁפטי־פיך׃

Bisfatai siparti kol mishpetei-fikha:

With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Thy mouth.

119:14 בדרך עדותיך שׂשׂתי כעל כל־הון׃

Bederekh edvoteikha sasti keal kol-hon:

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.

119:15 בפקדיך אשׂיחה ואביטה ארחתיך׃

Bepikudeikha asikhah veabitah orkhoteikha:

I will meditate on Thy precepts, And contemplate Thy ways.

119:16בחקתיך אשׁתעשׁע לא אשׁכח דברך׃

Bechukoteikha eshtaasha lo eshkakh devarekha:

I will delight myself in Thy Chukkot: I will not forget Thy Dvar.

Gamal; behold , strangers, breaks, rebuked; remove, Yea, delight

119:17 גמל על־עבדך אחיה ואשׁמרה דברך׃

Gemol al-avdekha ekhyeh veeshmerah devarekha:

Deal bountifully with Thy servant, That I may live and keep Thy word.

119:18גל־עיני ואביטה נפלאות מתורתך׃

Gal-einai veabitah niflaot mitoratekha:

Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Thy Torah.

119:19 גר אנכי בארץ אל־תסתר ממני מצותיך׃

Ger anokhi vaaretz al-taster mimeni mitzvoteikha:

I am a sojourner in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me.

119:20 גרסה נפשׁי לתאבה אל־משׁפטיך בכל־עת׃

Garsah nafshi letavah el-mishpateikha vekhol-et:

My soul has longed exceedingly for Your judgments at all times.

119:21גערת זדים ארורים השׁגים ממצותיך׃

Gaarta zedim arurim hashogim mimitzvoteikha:

You have rebuked the proud; cursed are they that turn aside from Your commandments.

119:22גל מעלי חרפה ובוז כי עדתיך נצרתי׃

Gal mealai kherpah vavuz ki edoteikha natzarti:

Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have sought out Your testimonies.

119:23 גם ישׁבו שׂרים בי נדברו עבדך ישׂיח בחקיך

Gam yashvu sarim bi nidbaru avdekha yasiakh bechukeikha:

Even though princes sit and talk against me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.

119:24 גם־עדתיך שׁעשׁעי אנשׁי עצתי

Gam-edoteikha shaashu aianshei atzati:

For Your testimonies are my meditation, and Your statutes are my counselors.

Door, a pathway through His word (Dvar) entrance, enter, move, hang, Sense of Personal Insufficiency

119:25 דבקה לעפר נפשׁי חיני כדברך׃

Davkah leafar nafshi khayeni kidvarekha:

My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.

119:26 דרכי ספרתי ותענני למדני חקיך׃

Derakhai siparti vataaneni lamdeni chukeikha:

I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes.

119:27 דרך־פקודיך הבינני ואשׂיחה בנפלאותיך׃

Derekh-pikudeikha havineni veasikhah benifleoteikha:

Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.

119:28 דלפה נפשׁי מתוגה קימני כדברך׃

Dalfah nafshi mitugak kaimeni kidvarekha:

My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.

119:29 דרך־שׁקר הסר ממני ותורתך חנני׃

Derekh-sheker haser mimeni vetoratkha khaneni:

Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your Torat.

119:30 דרך־אמונה בחרתי משׁפטיך שׁויתי׃

Derekh-emunah vakharti mishpateikha shiviti:

I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.

119:31 דבקתי בעדותיך יהוה אל־תבישׁני׃

Davakti veedvoteikha YEHOVAH al-tevisheni:

I cling to Your testimonies; O YEHOVAH, do not put me to shame!

119:32 דרך־מצותיך ארוץ כי תרחיב לבי׃

Derekh-mitzvoteikha arutz ki tarkhiv libi:

I ran the way of Your commandments, when You enlarged my heart.

Chayah means to revive or make alive by His Word and His tzedek, window; look, reveal, breath, an with arms raised; Power of the Dvar

119:33 הורני יהוה דרך חקיך ואצרנה עקב׃

Horeni YEHOVAH derekh chukeikha veetzreh naekev:

Teach me, O YEHOVAH, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.

119:34 הבינני ואצרה תורתך ואשׁמרנה בכל־לב׃

Havineni veetzrah toratekha veeshmerenah vekhol-lev:

Give me understanding, that I may observe Your Torat, that I may keep it with a whole heart.

119:35 הדריכני בנתיב מצותיך כי־בו חפצתי׃

Hadrikheni bintiv mitzvoteikha ki-vo khafatzti:

Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.

119:36 הט־לבי אל־עדותיך ואל אל־בצע׃

Hat-libi el-edvoteikha veal el-batza:

Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!

119:37 העבר עיני מראות שׁוא בדרכך חיני׃

Haaver einai merot shava bidrakhekha chayeni:

Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.

119:38 הקם לעבדך אמרתך אשׁר ליראתך׃

Hakem leavdekha imratekha asher leyiratekha:

Establish Your word to Your servant, that he may fear You.

119:39 העבר חרפתי אשׁר יגרתי כי משׁפטיך טובים׃

Haaver kherpati asher yagorti ki mishpateikha tovim:

Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good.

119:40 הנה תאבתי לפקדיך בצדקתך חיני

Hineh taavti lefiku deikha betzidkatkha Chayeni:

Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me through Your righteousness.

To secure, a peg or nail; add, secure, hook, shomer, guard; Victory

119:41 ויבאני חסדך יהוה תשׁועתך כאמרתך׃

Vivouni chasadekha YEHOVAH teshuatkha keimratekha:

And let Your lovingkindness come upon me, O YEHOVAH; even Your salvation, according to Your Word.

119:42 ואענה חרפי דבר כי־בטחתי בדברך׃

Veeeneh khorfi davar ki-vatakhti bidvarekha:

And so I shall render an answer to them that reproach me; for I have trusted in Your Words.

119:43 ואל־תצל מפי דבר־אמת עד־מאד כי למשׁפטך יחלתי׃

Veal-tatzel mipi devar-emet ad-meod ki lemishpatekha yikhalti:

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in Your judgments.

119:44 ואשׁמרה תורתך תמיד לעולם ועד׃

Veeshmerah toratkha tamid leolam vaed:

So shall I keep Your Torat continually, even forever and ever.

119:45 ואתהלכה ברחבה כי פקדיך דרשׁתי׃

Veethalkha varkhavah ki pikudeikha darashti:

And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.

119:46 ואדברה בעדתיך נגד מלכים ולא אבושׁ׃

Vaadabrah veedoteikha neged melakhim velo evosh:

I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed.

119:47 ואשׁתעשׁע במצותיך אשׁר אהבתי׃

Veeshtaasha bemitzvoteikha asher ahavti:

And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I have loved.

119:48 ואשׂא־כפי אל־מצותיך אשׁר אהבתי ואשׂיחה בחקיך׃

Veesa-khapai el-mitzvoteikha asher ahavti veasikha vechukeikha:

And I lifted up my hands to Your commandments which I loved; and I meditated in Your statutes.

119:49 זכר־דבר לעבדך על אשׁר יחלתני׃

Zekhar-davar leavdekha al asher yikhaltani:

Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope.

119:50 זאת נחמתי בעניי כי אמרתך חיתני׃

Zot nekhamati veanyi ki imratkha khiyatni:

This has comforted me in my affliction; for Your word has revived me.

119:51 זדים הליצני עד־מאד מתורתך לא נטיתי׃

Zedim helitzuni ad-meod mitoratkha lo natiti:

The proud have transgressed exceedingly; but I swerved not from Your Torat.

119:52 זכרתי משׁפטיך מעולם יהוה ואתנחם׃

Zakharti mishpateikha meolam YEHOVAH vaetnekham:

I remembered Your judgment of old, O YEHOVAH; and was comforted.

119:53 זלעפה אחזתני מרשׁעים עזבי תורתך׃

Zalafah akhazatni mershaim ozvei toratekha:

Despair took hold upon me, because of the sinners who forsake Your Torat.

119:54 זמרות היו־לי חקיך בבית מגורי׃

Zemirot hayu-li chukeikha beveit megurai:

Your statutes were my sons in the house of my sojourning.

119:55 זכרתי בלילה שׁמך יהוה ואשׁמרה תורתך׃

Zakharti valailah shimkha YEHOVAH vaeshmerah toratekha:

I remembered Your Name, O YEHOVAH, in the night, and kept Your Torat.

119:56 זאת היתה־לי כי פקדיך נצרתי׃

Zot haitah-li ki pikudeikha natzarti:

This has become mine, Because I kept Your precepts.

Chelek mean portion, Outside, Divide, half, tent wall; Separate, a chamber, private;

119:57 חלקי יהוה אמרתי לשׁמר דבריך׃

Khelki YEHOVAH amarti lishmor devareikha:

You are my portion, O YEHOVAH; I have said that I would keep Your words.

119:58 חליתי פניך בכל־לב חנני כאמרתך׃

Khiliti faneikha vekhol-lev khaneni keimratekha:

I besought Your favor with my whole heart; Be gracious to me according to Your word.

119:59 חשׁבתי דרכי ואשׁיבה רגלי אל־עדתיך׃

Khishavti derakhai vaashivah raglai el-edoteikha:

I thought on Your ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies.

119:60 חשׁתי ולא התמהמהתי לשׁמר מצותיך׃

Khashti velo hitmahmahti lishmor mitzvoteikha:

I hastened and did not delay; To guard Your commandments.

119:61 חבלי רשׁעים עודני תורתך לא שׁכחתי

Khevlei reshaim ivduni toratkha lo shakhakhti:

The snares of sinners entangled me; But I have not forgotten Your Torat.

119:62 חצות־לילה אקום להודות לך על משׁפטי צדקך׃

Khatzot-lailah akum lehodot lakh al mishpetei tzidkekha:

At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments.

119:63 חבר אני לכל־אשׁר יראוך ולשׁמרי פקודיך׃

Khaver ani lekhol-asher yereukha uleshomrei pikudeikha:

I am a companion of all them that fear You, and of them that keep Your commandments.

119:64 חסדך יהוה מלאה הארץ חקיך למדני׃

Khasdekha YEHOVAH malah haeretz chukeikha lamdeni:

O YEHOVAH, the earth is full of Your mercy; teach me Your statutes.

119:65 טוב עשׂית עם־עבדך יהוה כדברך׃

Tov asita im-avdekha YEHOVAH kidvarekha:

You have dealt well with your servant, O YEHOVAH, according to your word.

119:66 טוב טעם ודעת למדני כי במצותיך האמנתי׃

Tuv taam vadaat lamdeni ki vemitzvoteikha heemanti:

Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments.

119:67 טרם אענה אני שׁגג ועתה אמרתך שׁמרתי׃

Terem eeneh ani shogeg veataimratkha shamarti:

Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.

119:68 טוב־אתה ומטיב למדני חקיך׃

Tov-atah umetiv lamdeni chukeikha:

You are good, and do good; Teach me Your statutes.

119:69 טפלו עלי שׁקר זדים אני בכל־לב אצר פקודיך׃

Taflu alai sheker zedim ani bekhol-lev etzor pikudeikha:

The arrogant have forged a lie against me; But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.

119:70 טפשׁ כחלב לבם אני תורתך שׁעשׁעתי׃

Tafash kakhelev libam ani toratkha shiashati:

Their heart is covered with fat, But I delight in Your torat.

119:71טוב־לי כי־עניתי למען אלמד חקיך׃

Tov-li khi-uneiti lemaan elmad chukeikha:

It was good for me that I was afflicted, That I might learn Your statutes.

119:72 טוב־לי תורת־פיך מאלפי זהב וכסף׃

Tov-li torat-pikha mealfei zahav vakhasef:

The torat of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

Hashem's yamin hands works, to fear, have trust in YHWH; be blameless lamed, be comfort, delight, meditate

119:73 ידיך עשׂוני ויכוננוני הבינני ואלמדה מצותיך׃

Yadeikha asuni vayekhonnuni havineni veelmedah mitzvoteikha:

Your hands have made me and fashioned me; instruct me, that I may learn Your commandments.

119:74 יראיך יראוני וישׂמחו כי לדברך יחלתי׃

Yereeikha yiruni veyismakhu ki lidvarkha yikhalti:

May those who fear You see me and rejoice, Because I wait for Your word.

119:75 ידעתי יהוה כי־צדק משׁפטיך ואמונה עניתני׃

Yadati YEHOVAH ki-tzedek mishpateikha veemunah initani:

I know, O YEHOVAH, that Your judgments are righteousness, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

119:76 יהי־נא חסדך לנחמני כאמרתך לעבדך׃

Yehi-na khasdekha lenakhameni keimratkha leavdekha:

Let I pray; Your lovingkindness be for my comfort; According to Your word to Your servant.

119:77 יבאוני רחמיך ואחיה כי־תורתך שׁעשׁעי׃

Yevouni rakhameikha veekhyeh ki-toratkha shaashuai:

Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your torat is my delight.

119:78 יבשׁו זדים כי־שׁקר עותוני אני אשׂיח בפקודיך׃

Yevoshu zedim ki-sheker ivtuni ani asiakh befikudeikha:

Let the proud be ashamed; for they transgressed against me unjustly; But I will meditate on Your precepts.

119:79 ישׁובו לי יראיך וידעו עדתיך׃

Yashuvu li yereeikha veyodev veyodei edoteikha:

Let those who fear You turn to me, Those who know Your testimonies.

119:80 יהי־לבי תמים בחקיך למען לא אבושׁ׃

Yehi-libi tamim bekhukeikha lemaan lo evosh:

Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.

Kalal, open, allow, tame, open palm, to cover,The Afflicted One sustained

119:81 כלתה לתשׁועתך נפשׁי לדברך יחלתי׃

Kaltah litshuatkha nafshi lidvarkha yikhalti:

My soul faints for Your salvation; I have hoped in Your words.

119:82 כלו עיני לאמרתך לאמר מתי תנחמני׃

Kalu einai leimratekha lemor matai tenakhameni:

My eyes failed from searching for Your word, saying, When will You comfort me?

119:83 כי־הייתי כנאד בקיטור חקיך לא שׁכחתי׃

Ki-hayiti kenod bekitor khukeikha lo shakhakhti:

For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, Yet I do not forget Your statutes.

119:84 כמה ימי־עבדך מתי תעשׂה ברדפי משׁפט׃

Kamah yemei avdekha matai taaseh verodfai mishpat:

How many are the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment for me on them that persecute me?

119:85 כרו־לי זדים שׁיחות אשׁר לא כתורתך׃

Karu-li zedim shikhot asher lo khetoratekha:

The arrogant have dug pits for me, Men who are not in accord with Your torah.

119:86 כל־מצותיך אמונה שׁקר רדפוני עזרני׃

Kol-mitzvoteikha emunah sheker redafuni azreni:

All Your commandments are truth; They persecuted me unjustly; Help me!

119:87 כמעט כלוני בארץ ואני לא־עזבתי פקודיך׃

Kimat kiluni vaaretz vaani lo-azavti fikuvdeikha:

They almost destroyed me on earth, But I did not forsake Your precepts.

119:88 כחסדך חיני ואשׁמרה עדות פיך׃

Kekhasdekha khayeni veeshmerah edut pikha:

Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.

Shepherd Staff, teach , Yoke, to bind, Eternity

119:89 לעולם יהוה דברך נצב בשׁמים׃

Leolam YEHOVAH devarkha nitzav bashamayim:

Forever, O YEHOVAH, Your word is settled in heaven.

119:90 לדר ודר אמונתך כוננת ארץ ותעמד׃

Ledor vador emunatekha konanta eretz vataamod:

Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.

119:91 למשׁפטיך עמדו היום כי הכל עבדיך׃

Lemishpateikha amdu hayom ki hakol avadeikha:

They continue this day according to Your ordinances, for all things are Your servants.

119:92 לולי תורתך שׁעשׁעי אז אבדתי בעניי׃

Lulei toratkha shaashu ai azavadti veanyi:

Unless Your Torat had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.

119:93 לעולם לא־אשׁכח פקודיך כי בם חייתני׃

Leolam lo-eshkakh pikudeikha ki-vam khiyitani:

I will never forget Your precepts, for with them You have revived me.

119:94 לך־אני הושׁיעני כי פקודיך דרשׁתי׃

Lekha-ani hoshieni ki fikudeikha darashti:

I am Yours, save me; for I have sought out Your precepts.

119:95 לי קוו רשׁעים לאבדני עדתיך אתבונן׃

Li kiuu reshaim leabdeni edoteikha etbonan:

The wicked wait for me to destroy me; I shall diligently consider Your testimonies.

119:96 לכל תכלה ראיתי קץ רחבה מצותך מאד׃

Lekhol tikhlah raiti ketz rekhavah mitzvatkha meod:

I have seen an end of all perfection; [But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

119:97 מה־אהבתי תורתך כל־היום היא שׂיחתי׃

Mah-ahavti toratekha kol-hayom hi sikhati:

Oh how I love Your Torat! All the day, is it my meditation?

119:98 מאיבי תחכמני מצותך כי לעולם היא־לי׃

Meoivai tekhakmeni mitzvotekha ki leolam hi-li:

You have made me wiser than my enemies in Your commandment; for it is mine forever.

I understand more that the aged; because I have sought out Your

119:101 מכל־ארח רע כלאתי רגלי למען אשׁמר דברך׃

I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.

119:102 ממשׁפטיך לא־סרתי כי־אתה הורתני׃

Mimishpateikha lo-sarti ki-atah horetani:

I have not departed from Your judgments; for You have instructed me.

119:103 מה־נמלצו לחכי אמרתך מדבשׁ לפי׃

Mah-nimletzu lekhiki imratekha midvash lefi:

How sweet are Your words to my taste! More so than honey to my mouth!

119:104 מפקודיך אתבונן על־כן שׂנאתי כל־ארח שׁקר׃

Mipikudeikha etbonan al-ken saneti kol-orakh shaker:

I gain understanding by Your precepts; therefore I have hated every way of unrighteousness.

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Nishbati vaakayemah lishmor mishpetei tzidkekha:

I have sworn and determined to keep the judgments of Your righteousness.

119:107 נעניתי עד־מאד יהוה חיני כדברך׃

Naaneiti ad-meod YEHOVAH khayeni khidvarekha:

I have been very greatly afflicted, O YEHOVAH; revive me, according to Your word.

119:108 נדבות פי רצה־נא יהוה ומשׁפטיך למדני׃

Nidvot pi retzeh-na YEHOVAH umishpateikha lamdeni:

Accept, O YEHOVAH, the freewill offerings of my mouth, and teach me Your judgments.

119:109 נפשׁי בכפי תמיד ותורתך לא שׁכחתי׃

Nafshi vekhapi tamid vetoratkha lo shakhakhti:

My soul is continually in Your hands; and I have not forgotten Your torat.

119:110 נתנו רשׁעים פח לי ומפקודיך לא תעיתי׃

Natnu reshaim pakh li umipikudeikha lo taiti:

The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I have not strayed from Your precepts.

119:111 נחלתי עדותיך לעולם כי־שׂשׂון לבי המה׃

Nakhalti edvoteikha leolam ki-seshoon libi hemah:

Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart.

119:112 נטיתי לבי לעשׂות חקיך לעולם עקב׃

Natiti libi laashoot khukeikha leolam ekev:

I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end.

119:113 סעפים שׂנאתי ותורתך אהבתי׃

Seafim saneti vetoratkha ahavti:

I hate the double-minded, but Your Torat do I love.

119:114 סתרי ומגני אתה לדברך יחלתי׃

Sitri umagini atah lidvarkha yikhalti:

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

119:115 סורו־ממני מרעים ואצרה מצות אלהי׃

Suru mimeni mereim veetzrah mitzvot Elohai:

Depart from me, you evildoers, For I will keep the commandments of Elohai!

119:116 סמכני כאמרתך ואחיה ואל־תבישׁני משׂברי׃

Samkheni kheimratkha veekhyeh veal-tevisheni misivri:

Uphold me according to Your word, and revive me; and make me not ashamed of my hope.

119:117 סעדני ואושׁעה ואשׁעה בחקיך תמיד׃

Seadeni veivasheah veeshah vekhukeikha tamid:

Help me, and I shall be saved; and I will meditate on Your statutes continually.

119:118 סלית כל־שׁוגים מחקיך כי־שׁקר תרמיתם׃

Salita kal-shogim mekhukeikha ki-sheker tarmitam:

You have rejected all that depart from Your statutes; for their inner thoughts are unrighteousness.

119:119 סגים השׁבת כל־רשׁעי־ארץ לכן אהבתי עדתיך׃

Sigim hishbata khol-rishei-aretz lakhen ahavti edoteikha:

You have removed all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies.

119:120 סמר מפחדך בשׂרי וממשׁפטיך יראתי׃

Samar mipakhdekha vesari umimishpateikha yareti:

My flesh trembles for fear of You; and I am afraid of Your judgments.

119:121 עשׂיתי משׁפט וצדק בל־תניחני לעשׁקי׃

Asiti mishpat vatzedek bal-tanikheni leshekai:

I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.

119:122 ערב עבדך לטוב אל־יעשׁקני זדים׃

Arov avdekha letov al-yaashkuni zedim:

Be surety for Your servant for good; Do not let the proud oppress me.

119:123 עיני כלו לישׁועתך ולאמרת צדקך׃

Ainai kalu lishuatekha uleimrat tzidkekha:

My eyes fail from seeking Your salvation And Your righteous word.

119:124 עשׂה עם־עבדך כחסדך וחקיך למדני׃

Aseh im-avdekha khekhasdekha vechukeikha lamdeni:

Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, and teach me Your statutes.

119:125 עבדך־אני הבינני ואדעה עדתיך׃

Avdekha-ani havineni veeda edoteikha:

I am Your servant; instruct me, and I shall know Your testimonies.

119:126 עת לעשׂות ליהוה הפרו תורתך׃

Et laashoot laYEHOVAH heferu toratekha:

It is time for YEHOVAH to work; they have utterly broken Your Torat.

119:127 על־כן אהבתי מצותיך מזהב ומפז׃

Al-ken ahavti mitzvoteikha mizahav umipaz:

Therefore have I loved Your commandments more than gold, or topaz.

119:128 על־כן כל־פקודי כל ישׁרתי כל־ארח שׁקר שׂנאתי׃

Al-ken kol-pikudei khol yisharti kol-orakh sheker saneti:

Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; Every way of falsehood, I hate.

Wonderful are your testimonies, For this cause, has my soul observed them.

119:130 פתח דבריך יאיר מבין פתיים׃

Petakh devareikha yair mevin petayim:

The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

119:131פי־פערתי ואשׁאפה כי למצותיך יאבתי׃

Pi-faarti vaeshafa ki lemitzvoteikha yaavti:

I opened my mouth and panted, For I longed for Your commandments.

119:132 פנה־אלי וחנני כמשׁפט לאהבי שׁמך׃

Peneh-elai vekhaneni kemishpat leohavei shemekha:

Look upon me and have mercy upon me, after the manner of them that love Your Name.

119:133 פעמי הכן באמרתך ואל־תשׁלט־בי כל־און׃

Peamai hakhen beimratekha veal-tashlet-bi khol-aven:

Order my steps according to Your word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

119:134 פדני מעשׁק אדם ואשׁמרה פקודיך׃

Pedeni meshek adam veeshmerah pikudeikha:

Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I may keep Your precepts.

119:135 פניך האר בעבדך ולמדני את־חקיך׃

Paneikha haer beavdekha velamdeni et-chukeikha:

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes.

119:136 פלגי־מים ירדו עיני על לא־שׁמרו תורתך׃

Palgei-mayim yardu einai al lo-shamru toratekha:

Streams of water have run down from my eyes, Because men do not keep Your Torat.

Man on His side, tzaddik wait, chase, snare, hunt, Zeal for the Dvar

119:137 צדיק אתה יהוה וישׁר משׁפטיך׃

Tzadik atah YEHOVAH veyashar mishpateikha:

Righteous are You, O YEHOVAH, And upright are Your judgments.

119:138 צוית צדק עדתיך ואמונה מאד׃

Tzivita tzedek edoteikha veemunah meod:

You have commanded righteousness and perfect truth, as Your testimonies.

119:139 צמתתני קנאתי כי־שׁכחו דבריך צרי׃

Tzimtatni kinati ki-shakhkhu devareikha tzarai:

My zeal has consumed me, Because my enemies have forgotten Your words.

119:140 צרופה אמרתך מאד ועבדך אהבה׃

Tzerufah imratkha meod veavdekha aheva:

Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it.

119:141 צעיר אנכי ונבזה פקדיך לא שׁכחתי׃

Tzair anokhi venivzeh pikudeikha loshakhakhti:

I am small and despised, Yet I do not forget Your precepts.

119:142 צדקתך צדק לעולם ותורתך אמת׃

Tzidkatkha tzedek leolam vetorat khaemet:

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your Torat is truth.

119:143 צר־ומצוק מצאוני מצותיך שׁעשׁעי׃

Tzar-umatzok metzauni mitzvoteikha shaashuai:

Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, Yet Your commandments are my delight.

119:144 צדק עדותיך לעולם הבינני ואחיה׃

Tzedek edvoteikha leolam havineni veekhyeh:

The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; Give me understanding, and I shall live.

119:145 קראתי בכל־לב ענני יהוה חקיך אצרה׃

Karati vekhol-lev aneni YEHOVAH chukeikha etzorah:

I cry out with my whole heart; Hear me, O YEHOVAH! I will keep Your statutes.

119:146 קראתיך הושׁיעני ואשׁמרה עדתיך׃

Keratikha hoshieni veeshmerah edoteikha:

I cry out to You; Save me, and I will keep Your testimonies.

119:147 קדמתי בנשׁף ואשׁועה לדבריך יחלתי׃

Kidamti vaneshef vaashaveah lidvarikha yikhalti:

I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word..

119:148 קדמו עיני אשׁמרות לשׂיח באמרתך׃

Kidmu einai ashmurot lasiakh beimratekha:

My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word.

119:149 קולי שׁמעה כחסדך יהוה כמשׁפטך חיני׃

Koli shimah khekhasdekha YEHOVAH kemishpatekha khayeni:

Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O YEHOVAH, revive me according to Your justice.

119:150 קרבו רדפי זמה מתורתך רחקו׃

Karvu rodfei zimah mitoratkha rakhaku:

They draw near who follow after wickedness; They are far from Your Torat.

119:151 קרוב אתה יהוה וכל־מצותיך אמת׃

Karov atah YEHOVAH vekhol-mitzvoteikha emet:

You are near, O YEHOVAH, And all Your commandments are truth.

119:152 קדם ידעתי מעדתיך כי לעולם יסדתם׃

Kedem yadati meedoteikha ki leolam yesadtam:

Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.

119:154 ריבה ריבי וגאלני לאמרתך חיני׃

Rivah rivi ugealeni leimratkha khayeni:

Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your word.

119:155 רחוק מרשׁעים ישׁועה כי־חקיך לא דרשׁו׃

Rakhok mershaim yeshuah ki-chukeikha lo darashu:

Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes.

119:156 רחמיך רבים יהוה כמשׁפטיך חיני׃

Rakhameikha rabim YEHOVAH kemishpateikha khayeni:

Great are Your tender mercies, O YEHOVAH; Revive me according to Your judgments.

119:157 רבים רדפי וצרי מעדותיך לא נטיתי׃

Rabim rodfai vetzarai meedvoteikha lo natiti:

Many are my persecutors and my enemies, Yet I do not turn from Your testimonies.

119:158 ראיתי בגדים ואתקוטטה אשׁר אמרתך לא שׁמרו׃

Raiti vogdim vaetkotatah asher imratkha lo shamaru:

I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; Because they do not keep Your word.

119:159 ראה כי־פקודיך אהבתי יהוה כחסדך חיני׃

Reeh ki-pikudeikha ahavti YEHOVAH kekhasdekha khayeni:

See how I love your precepts: revive me, O YEHOVAH, according to your lovingkindness.

119:160 ראשׁ־דברך אמת ולעולם כל־משׁפט צדקך׃

Rosh-devarkha emet uleolam kol-mishpat tzidkekha:

The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

119:161שׂרים רדפוני חנם ומדבריך פחד לבי׃

Sarim redafuni khinam umidvarikha pakhad libi:

Princes persecute me without a cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your word.

119:162 שׂשׂ אנכי על־אמרתך כמוצא שׁלל רב׃

Sas anokhi al-imratekha kemotze shalal rav:

I rejoice at Your word As one who finds great treasure.

119:163 שׁקר שׂנאתי ואתעבה תורתך אהבתי׃

Sheker saneti vaataevah toratkha ahavti:

I hate and abhor falsehood, But I love Your Torat.

119:164 שׁבע ביום הללתיך על משׁפטי צדקך׃

Sheva bayom hilaltikha al mishpetei tzidkekha:

Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments.

119:165 שׁלום רב לאהבי תורתך ואין־למו מכשׁול׃

Shalom rav leohavei toratekha vein-lamo mikhshol:

Great shalom have those who love Your Torat, And nothing causes them to stumble.

119:166 שׂברתי לישׁועתך יהוה ומצותיך עשׂיתי׃

Sibarti lishuatkha YEHOVAH umitzvoteikha asiti:

I have hoped for Your salvation, O YEHOVAH, and have loved Your commandments.

119:167 שׁמרה נפשׁי עדתיך ואהבם מאד׃

Shamrah nafshi edoteikha vaohavem meod:

My soul keeps Your testimonies, And I love them exceedingly.

119:168 שׁמרתי פקודיך ועדתיך כי כל־דרכי נגדך׃

Shamarti pikudeikha veedoteikha ki khol-derakhai negdekha:

I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, For all my ways are before You.

119:170 תבוא תחנתי לפניך כאמרתך הצילני׃

Tavo tekhinati lefaneikha keimratkha hatzileni:

Let my supplication come before You; Deliver me according to Your word.

119:171 תבענה שׂפתי תהלה כי תלמדני חקיך׃

Tabanah sefatai tehilah ki telamdeni chukeikha:

My lips shall utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes.

119:172 תען לשׁוני אמרתך כי כל־מצותיך צדק׃

Taan leshoni imratekha ki khol-mitzvoteikha tzedek:

My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. 119:173תהי־ידך לעזרני כי פקודיך בחרתי׃

Tehi-yadkha leazreni ki fikudeikha vakharti:

Let Your hand become my help, For I have chosen Your precepts.

119:174 תאבתי לישׁועתך יהוה ותורתך שׁעשׁעי׃

Taavti lishuatkha YEHOVAH vetoratkha shaashuai:

I long for Your salvation, O YEHOVAH, And Your Torat is my delight.

119:175 תחי־נפשׁי ותהללך ומשׁפטך יעזרני׃

Tekhi-nafshi utehalleikha umishpatekha yaazruni:

Let my soul live, and it shall praise You; And let Your judgments help me.

119:176 תעיתי כשׂה אבד בקשׁ עבדך כי מצותיך לא שׁכחתי׃

Taiti keseh oved bakesh avdekha ki mitzvoteikha lo shakhakhti:

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.
