Value: Votive offerings support the sanctuary

27:1 (RY:vi; LY:iv)

And YEHOVAH spoke to Mosheh, saying:

27:2 Dvar el benai Yisra'el ve amarta alehem:

When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons [shall be] for YEHOVAH (יהוה) by your estimation.

27:3 And your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old erev to sixty years old, erev your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

27:4 And if it [be] a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels.

27:5 And if [it be] from five years old erev to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

27:6 And if [it be] from a month old erev to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation [shall be] three shekels of silver.

27:7 And if [it be] from sixty years old and above; if [it be] a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

27:8 But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall present himself before the Kohen, and the Kohen shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the Kohen value him.

27:9 And if [it be] a beast, whereof men bring an offering toYEHOVAH (יהוה), all that [any man] giveth of such to YEHOVAH (יהוה) shall be kodesh.

27:10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be kodesh.

27:11 And if [it be] any tamei beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to YEHOVAH (יהוה), then he shall present the beast before the Kohen:

27:12 And the Kohen shall set a value for it, whether it is good or bad; as you, the Kohen, value it, so it shall be.

27:13 But if he wants at all to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth to your valuation.

27:14 And when a man shall set his house apart to be set apart to YEHOVAH (יהוה), then the Kohen shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the Kohen shall estimate it, so shall it stand.

27:15 ‘And if he who sets it apart does redeem his house, then he shall add one-fifth of the silver of your evaluation to it, and it shall be his.

27:16 (RY:vii, LY:v)

Ancestral fields:- Land valued according to its productive capacity

'If a man dedicates to YEHOVAH (יהוה) part of a field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it. A homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.

27:17 If he set apart his field from the Shnat HaYovel (year of Jubille), according to your estimation it shall stand.

27:18 But if he set apart his field after ha Yovel (היבל), then the Kohen shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain, erev to the shanah ha Yovel (היבל), and it shall be abated from your estimation.

27:19 And if he who dedicates the field ever wishes to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him.

27:20 And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more.

27:21 But the field, when it goes out in ha Yovel (היבל), shall be Kodesh to YEHOVAH (יהוה), as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the Kohen's.

27:22(LY:vi)

Purchased Fields - One can consecrate only what one owns

And if [a man] Set Apart to YEHOVAH (יהוה) a field which he has bought, which [is] not of the fields of his possession;

27:23 Then the Kohen shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation, [even] to the year of the yovel: and he shall give thine estimation in that day, [as] a kodesh thing to YEHOVAH (יהוה).

27:24 In the year of the yovel the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, [even] to him to whom the possession of the land [did belong].

27:25 And all your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

27:26 Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be YEHOVAH (יהוה)'S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether [it be] ox, or sheep: it [is] YEHOVAH (יהוה)'S.

27:27 And if [it be] of an tamei beast, then he shall redeem [it] according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth [part] of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation.

27:28 Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to YEHOVAH (יהוה) of all that he has, [both] of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing [is] most kodesh to YEHOVAH (יהוה).

27:29 (LY:vii)

Not Redeemable:- Proscribed property is specially devoted to Elohim

None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; [but] shall surely be put to death.

27:30 And all the tithe of the land, [whether] of the seed of the land, [or] of the fruit of the tree, [is] YEHOVAH (יהוה)'S: [it is] kodesh to YEHOVAH (יהוה).

27:31 And if a man will at all redeem [ought] of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth [part] thereof.

27:32 (Maftir)

And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, [even] of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be kodesh to YEHOVAH (יהוה).

27:33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be kodesh; it shall not be redeemed.

27:34 These [are] the mitzvah, which YEHOVAH (יהוה) commanded Mosheh for the benai Yisrael in mount Sinay.
