Internal dissension overcome by love,
Seven men as helpers
6:1 And in those days, when the number of the Taught ones was increasing in numbers, there arose a complaint against the Ivrim by the Hellenistic Yehudim , because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.
6:2 Then the Sheneym Asar called the multitude of the taught ones [unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the Dvar Elohim (אלהים), and serve tables.
6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Ruach HaKodesh and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to tefillah, and to the ministry of the word.
6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephenos, a man full of faith and of the Ruach HaKodesh, and Philippos, and Prochorus, and Nikanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nikolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6:6 Whom they set before the Shliakim: and when they had prayed, they laid [their] hands on them.
6:7 And the dvar Elohim (אלהים) increased; and the number of the taught ones multiplied in Yerushalayim greatly; and a great company of the Kohenim were obedient to the faith.
6:8 And Stephenos, full of faith and ko'ach (power), did great wonders and miracles among the people.
6:9 Then there arose certain of the Shul, which is called [the Shul] of the Libertinos (Freemen), and Kurenaíos, and Alexandreus, and of them of Kilikia and of Asia, disputing with Stephenos.
6:10 And they were not able to resist the Chokhmah and the spirit by which he spake.
6:11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Mosheh, and [against] Elohim (אלהים).
The Zekenim and Sofrim arrest Stephenos
6:12 And they stirred up the people, and the Zekenim, and the Sofrim, and came upon [him], and caught him, and brought [him] to the Sanhedrin,
6:13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against Makom HaKadosh HaZeh, and the Torah:
6:14 For we have heard him say, that this Yeshua (ישוע) of Natzeret shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Mosheh delivered us.
6:15 And all that sat in the Sanhedrin, looking steadfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of a messenger.
