Stephenos addresses Sanhedrin on the unbelief of Yisrael
The Appeal : Avraham Avinu 1- 8
7:1 Then said Kohen haGadol (הגדול כהן), Are these things the truth?
7:2 And he said, Men, Achim (brethren), and Avot, hearken; Elohei ha Kavod appeared unto Avraham avinu, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charan,
7:3 And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.[BERESHIT 12:1, 48:4]
7:4 Then came he out of the eretz Kasdim, and dwelt in Charan: and from thence, when his Avi was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
7:5 And he gave him none nachalah (inheritance) in it, no, not [so much as] to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his zera after him, when [as yet] he had no child.
7:6 And Elohim (אלהים) spake on this wise, That his zera should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat [them] evil four hundred years.
7:7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said Elohim (אלהים): and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
7:8 And he gave him the BRIT MILAH: and so [Avraham] begat Yitzchak, and Brit Milah him the eighth day; and Yitzchak [begat] Yaakov; and Yaakov [begat] the sheneym Asar Ha Avot (Sheneym Asar Avot).
Yosef and his Sheneym Asar ha Avot 9-16
7:9 And the Avot, moved with envy, sold Yosef into Mitzrayim: but Elohim (אלהים) was with him,
7:10And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Paroh king of Mitzrayim; and he made him governor over Mitzrayim and all his Bayit.
7:11 Now there came a famine over all the eretz Mitzrayim and Kenaan, and great affliction: and Avoteinu found no sustenance.
7:12 But when Yaakov heard that there was corn in Mitzrayim, he sent out Avoteinu pa'am haYarishonah (the first time).
7:13 And at the second [time] Yosef was made known to his Achim (brethren); and Yosef's kindred was made known unto Paroh.
7:14 Then sent Yosef, and called his father Yaakov to [him], and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.
7:15 So Yaakov went down into Mitzrayim, and died, he, and Avoteinu ,
7:16 And were carried over into Shechem, and laid in the kever (tomb) that Avraham bought for a sum of money of the banim Chamor [the father] of Shechem.
7:17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which Elohim (אלהים) had sworn to Avraham, the people grew and multiplied in Mitzrayim,
7:18 Till another king arose, which knew not Yosef.
7:19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated Avoteinu , so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
7:20 In which time Mosheh was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's Bayit three months:
7:21 And when he was cast out, Paroh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
7:22 And Mosheh was learned in all the wisdom of the Mitzrites, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
7:23 And when he was full arba'im (forty years) old, it came into his heart to visit his Achim (brethren) Benai Yisrael.
7:24 And seeing one [of them] suffer wrong, he defended [him], and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Mitzrayim:
7:25 For he supposed his Achim (brethren) would have understood how that Elohim (אלהים) by his hand would deliver them: but they did not have binah (understanding).
7:26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are Achim (brethren); why do ye wrong one to another?
7:27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
7:28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou did to the Mitzrayim yesterday?
Mosheh a stranger in eretz Midyan 29 -35
7:29 Then fled Mosheh at this saying, and was a stranger in the eretz Midyan, where he begat two sons.
7:30 And when arba'im (forty years) were expired, there appeared to him in the midbar of mount Sinai a messenger of Adonay in a flame of fire in a bush.
7:31 When Mosheh saw [it], he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to Hinnei [it], the voice of Adonay came unto him,
7:32 [Saying], I [am] the Elohim (אלהים) Thy Avot, the Elohim (אלהים) of Avraham, and the Elohim (אלהים) of Yitzchak, and the Elohim (אלהים) of Yaakov. Then Mosheh trembled, and did not dare to look at the bush.
7:33 Then said Adonay to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is adamat kodesh.
7:34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Mitzrayim, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Mitzrayim.
7:35 This Mosheh whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did Elohim (אלהים) send [to be] a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the messenger which appeared to him in the bush.
7:36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the eretz Mitzrayim, and in the Yam Suf, and in the midbar arba'im (forty years).
7:37 This is that Mosheh, which said unto Benai Yisrael, A Navi shall Adonay Eloheinu raise up unto you of your Achim (brethren), like unto me; him shall ye Shema.
7:38 This is he, that was in the assembly in the midbar with the messenger which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and [with] Avoteinu : who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
7:39 To whom Avoteinu would not obey, but thrust [him] from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Mitzrayim,
7:40 Saying unto Aharon, Make us Elohim (אלהים)s to go before us: for [as for] this Mosheh, which brought us out of the eretz Mitzrayim, we wot not what is become of him.
7:41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
7:42 Then Elohim (אלהים) turned, and gave them up to worship the tzeva shamayim; as it is written in the book of the Neviim, O ye Bayit of Yisrael, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices [by the space of] arba'im (forty years) in the midbar?
7:43 Yea, ye took up the mishkan of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, tzelamim (idols) which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Bavel.
Shamayim is Elohim (אלהים) Throne and earth is his footstool
7:44 Avoteinu had the Mishkan HaEdut in the midbar, as he had appointed, speaking unto Mosheh, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
7:45 Which also Avoteinu that came after brought in with Yeshua (יהושע) into the possession of the Goyim, whom Elohim (אלהים) drave out before the face of Avoteinu , unto the days of Daviyd;
7:46 Who found favour before Elohim (אלהים), and desired to find a mishkan for the Elohim (אלהים) of Yaakov.
7:47 But Shlomo built him a Bayit.
7:48 Howbeit ha Elyon dwelleth not in battim (temples) made with hands; as saith ha Navi,
7:49 Shamayim [is] my throne, and earth [is] my footstool: what Bayit will ye build me? saith Adonay: or what [is] the place of my rest?
7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
The Appeal to Conscience 51 -53
7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Ruach HaKodesh: as Avoteinu [did], so [do] ye.
7:52 Which of the Neviim have not Avoteinu persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
7:53 Who have received the Torah by the disposition of messengers, and have not kept [it].
His Sight of Yeshua (יהושע) on High, Stephenos Stoned and call home
7:54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with [their] teeth.
7:55 But he, being full of Ruach HaKodesh, looked up steadfastly into shamayim, and saw the glory of Elohim (אלהים), and Yeshua (ישוע) standing on the right hand of Elohim (אלהים),
7:56 And said, Hinnei, I see the shamayim opened, and BEN man standing on the right hand of Elohim (אלהים).
7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
7:58 And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned [him]: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Sha'ul (שאול).
7:59 And they stoned Stephenos, calling upon [Elohim (אלהים)], and saying, Adonay Yeshua (ישוע), receive my spirit.
7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Adonay, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
