15:1 And ADONAI (יהוה) speak to Moshe, saying,
15:2 Speak to benai Yisrael, and say to them:
When you be come into the land of your habitations, which I give to you,
15:3 And will make an offering by fire to ADONAI (יהוה), a Olah, or a zevach (sacrifice) in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה), of the herd, or of the flock:
15:4 Then shall he that offers his offering to ADONAI (יהוה) bring a Minchah of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of a hin of oil.
15:5 And the fourth part of a hin of wine for a nesekh (drink offering) shall you prepare with the Olah or zevach (sacrifice), for one lamb.
15:6 Or for a ram, you shall prepare [for] a Minchah two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third [part] of a hin of oil.
15:7 And for a nesekh (drink offering) you shall offer the third [part] of a hin of wine, [for] a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה).
15:8(v) And when you preparest a bullock [for] a Olah, or [for] a zevach (sacrifice) in performing a vow, or peace offerings to ADONAI (יהוה):
15:9 Then shall he bring with a bullock a Minchah of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half a hin of oil.
15:10 And you shall bring for a nesekh (drink offering) half a hin of wine, [for] an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה).
15:11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid.
15:12 According to the number that you shall prepare, so shall you do to every one according to their number.
15:13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה).
15:14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever [be] among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה); as you do, so he shall do.
15:15 One chukkah shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourns [with you], an chukkah for ever in your generations: as you [are], so shall the stranger be before ADONAI (יהוה).
15:16 One torah and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourns with you.
And ADONAI (יהוה) speak to Moshe, saying,
15:18 Speak to benai Yisrael, and say to them, When you come into the land whither I bring you,
15:19 Then it shall be, that, when you eat of the lechem of the land, you shall offer up an terumah (heave offering) to ADONAI (יהוה).
15:20 Of the first of your dough you shall present a challah (חלּה) as a terumah (heave offering, contribution); like a contribution from the threshing floor, so shall you present it.
15:21 Of the first of your dough you shall give to ADONAI (יהוה) a terumah (heave offering) in your generations.
15:22 'If you sin unintentionally, and do not observe all these commandments which ADONAI (יהוה has spoken to Moshe--
15:23 [Even] all that ADONAI (יהוה) has commanded you by the hand of Mosheh, from the day that ADONAI (יהוה) commanded [Moshe], and henceforward among your generations;
15:24 then it will be, if it is unintentionally committed, without the knowledge of the congregation, that Kol HaEdah shall offer one young bull as an Olah, as a sweet aroma to ADONAI (יהוה), with its Minchah and its nesekh (drink offering), according to the mishpat, and one kid of the goats as a chatat.
15:25 And the kohen shall make an Kaporah (כּפר) for all the congregation of benai Yisrael, and it shall be forgiven them; for it [is] ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a zevach (sacrifice) made by fire to ADONAI (יהוה), and their chatat before ADONAI (יהוה), for their ignorance:
15:26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of benai Yisrael, and the stranger that sojourns among them; seeing all the people [were] in ignorance.
15:27(vii) And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a chatat.
15:28 And the kohen shall make an kaporah (כּפר) for the soul that sins ignorantly, when he sins by ignorance before ADONAI (יהוה), to make an Kaporah (כּפר) for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
15:29 You shall have one torah for him that sins through ignorance, [both for] him that is born among benai Yisrael, and for the stranger that sojourns among them.
15:30 But the soul that does [ought] presumptuously, [whether he be] born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproaches ADONAI (יהוה); and that soul shall be Karat (cut off כּרת) from among His people.
15:31 Because he has despised the word of ADONAI (יהוה), and has broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be Karat (cut off כּרת); his iniquity [shall be] upon him.
A Shabbat violator is punished
15:32 And while benai Yisrael were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon Yom Shabbat.
15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him to Mosheh and Aharon, and to all the congregation.
15:34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
15:35 And ADONAI (יהוה) said to Moshe:
The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
15:36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as ADONAI (יהוה) commanded Mosheh.
15:37(Maftir)
And ADONAI speak to Moshe, saying:
15:38 Speak to benai Yisrael, and bid them that they make them tzitzit in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the tzitzit of the borders a cord (thread twist פּתיל) of blue:
15:39 And it shall be to you for a tzitzit, that you may look upon it, and zakar (remember) all the mitzvot of ADONAI (יהוה), and do them; and that you seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to go a whoring:
15:40 That you may zakar (remember), and do all my mitzvot, and be kadosh to Eloheicha.
15:41 ANI ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, which brought you out of the land of Mitzrayim, to be Eloheicha: ANI ADONAI (יהוה) Elocheicha.
For liquid measure, the main units were the Log, Hin, and Bath, related as follows:
The bath may be archaeologically determined to have been about 5.75 gallons (22 liters) from a study of jar remains marked 'bath' and 'royal bath' from Tell Beir Mirsim
