29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first [day] of the month, ye shall have an kadosh convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a Yom teruah to you.

29:2 And ye shall offer a Olah for a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה); one young bullock, one ram, [and] seven lambs of the first year tamiym:

29:3 And their Minchah [shall be of] flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, [and] two tenth deals for a ram,

29:4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

29:5 And one kid of the goats [for] a chatat, to make kapporah (atonement) for you:

29:6 Beside the Olah of the month, and his Minchah, and the daily Olah, and his Minchah, and their nesekh (drink offering)s, according to their manner, for a sweet savour, a zevach (sacrifice) made by fire to ADONAI (יהוה).  

29:7 And ye shall have on the tenth [day] of this seventh month an kadosh convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work [therein]:

29:8 But ye shall offer a Olah to ADONAI (יהוה) [for] a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, [and] seven lambs of the first year; they shall be to you tamiym:

29:9 And their Minchah [shall be of] flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, [and] two tenth deals to one ram,

29:10 A several tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

29:11 One kid of the goats [for] a chatat; beside the chatat of kapporah (כּפר), and the continual Olah, and the Minchah of it, and their nesekh (drink offering)s.

And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an kadosh convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast to ADONAI (יהוה) seven days:

29:13 And ye shall offer a Olah, a zevach (sacrifice) made by fire, of a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה); thirteen young bullocks, two rams, [and] fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be tamiym:

29:14 And their Minchah [shall be of] flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams,

29:15 And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs:

29:16 And one kid of the goats [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Two

29:17 -19 And on the second day [ye shall offer] twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

29:18 And their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:19 And one kid of the goats [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, and the Minchah thereof, and their nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Three

29:20 -22 And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year tamiym;

29:21 And their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:22 And one goat [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, and his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Four

29:23 - 25 And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, [and] fourteen lambs of the first year tamiym:

29:24 Their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:25 And one kid of the goats [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Five

29:26 -28 And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, [and] fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

29:27 And their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:28 And one goat [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, and his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Six

29:29 -31 And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, [and] fourteen lambs of the first year tamiym:

29:30 And their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:31 And one goat [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Sukkot Day Seven

29:32 - 34 And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, [and] fourteen lambs of the first year tamiym:

29:33 And their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering) for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:34 And one goat [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

Shemini Atzeret (Eight Day)

29:35(Maftir) -38

On the Yom Shemini Atzeret (eight day) ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work [therein]:

29:36 But ye shall offer a Olah, a zevach (sacrifice) made by fire, of a sweet savour to ADONAI (יהוה): one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year tamiym:

29:37 Their Minchah and their nesekh (drink offering)s for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, [shall be] according to their number, after the manner:

29:38 And one goat [for] a chatat; beside the continual Olah, and his Minchah, and his nesekh (drink offering).

29:39 These [things] ye shall do to ADONAI (יהוה) in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your Olot, and for your Minchas, and for your nesekh (drink offering)s, and for your Shelamin.

29:40 (30:1) And Moshe told benai Yisrael according to all that ADONAI (יהוה) commanded Moshe.

MUSAF (Heb. מוּסָף), the additional sacrifice or prayer instituted on the Sabbath and the festivals. In addition to the daily morning and afternoon sacrifices offered in the Temple, the Bible prescribed additional offerings to be brought on Sabbaths, the three *Pilgrim festivals, Rosh Ha-Shanah, the Day of Atonement, and the New Moon (Num. 28–29; see *Sacrifice).

Sacrificial system

"ADONAI said to Moshe, "Tell the people of Isra'el, 'On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of Sukkot for seven days to ADONAI. On the first day is to be a set apart convocation; do not do any kind of ordinary work." (Leviticus 23:33-35)

 You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths, "so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Mitzrayim. ANI ADONAI Eloheicha. (Lev 23: 42-43 NNAS)

29:35-39 Yom Shemini Atzeret (eight day) This day was a special Shabbat observance. Shemini Atzeret serves to conclude the holiday of Sukkot, although it technically stands as its own festival. In this way Sukkuh begins with a yom tov (full holiday) and ends with a yom tov, while the days in between are the intermediate festival days (hol ha-mo'ed).

It is customary to read the book of Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) on the Shabbat of the intermediate days of Sukkot. However, should there be no Shabbat on those days, Ecclesiastes is read on Shemini Atzeret. The theme of Ecclesiastes is very fitting for this holiday, as it emphasizes that all of nature is a closed system, and life itself can appear to be a futile journey. The dynamic that fights off this sense of futility is the individual's relationship with God. The nature themes and the spiritual musings found in Ecclesiastes mirror many of the themes of Sukkot, and we are reminded of them once again on Shemini Atzeret as we close the holiday. The prayer for rain recited on Shemini Atzeret provides a further thematic link with nature and perhaps hints at the ancient Sukkot water libation festival.
