36:1 Then the people of the land took Yehoakhaz (יהואחז) Ben Yoshiyahu, and made him king in his father's stead in Yerushalayim.
36:2 Yehoakhaz (יהואחז) [was] twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim.
36:3 And the melekh Mitzrayim put him down at Yerushalayim, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of kesef and a talent of gold.
36:4 And the melekh Mitzrayim made Elyakim his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and turned his name to Yehoyakim . And Necho took Yehoakhaz (יהואחז) his brother, and carried him to Mitzrayim.
36:5 Yehoyakim [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of YHWH (יהוה) Elohav.
36:6 Against him came up Nevukhadnetzar melekh Bavel, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Bavel.
36:7 Nevukhadnetzar also carried of the vessels of Beit YHWH (יהוה) to Bavel, and put them in his temple at Bavel.
36:8 Now the rest of the acts of Yehoyakim , and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, Hinnei, they [are] written in sefer ha melekhim Yisra'el and Yehudah: and Yehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
36:9 Yehoyakhin [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Yerushalayim: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of YHWH (יהוה).
36:10 And when the year was expired, king Nevukhadnetzar sent, and brought him to Bavel, with the goodly vessels of Beit YHWH (יהוה), and made Zedekyah his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim.
36:11 Zedekyah [was] one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim.
36:12 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of YHWH (יהוה) Elohav, [and] humbled not himself before Yirmeyahu (ירמיהוּ) ha Navi [speaking] from the mouth of YHWH (יהוה).
36:13 And he also rebelled against king Nevukhadnetzar , who had made him swear by Elohim (אלהים): but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el.
36:14 Moreover all the chief of the Kohanim, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted Beit YHWH (יהוה) which he had hallowed in Yerushalayim.
36:15 And YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of their avot sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
36:16 But they mocked the messengers of Elohim (אלהים), and despised his words, and misused his Neviim, until the wrath of YHWH (יהוה) arose against his people, till [there was] no remedy.
36:17 Therefore he brought upon them the melekh the Kasdim, who slew their young men with the sword in Beit their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave [them] all into his hand.
36:18 And all the vessels of Beit Elohim (אלהים), great and small, and the treasures of Beit YHWH (יהוה), and the treasures of the king, and of his sarim; all [these] he brought to Bavel.
36:19 And they burnt Beit Elohim (אלהים), and brake down the wall of Yerushalayim, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
36:20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Bavel; where they were servants to him and his banim until the reign of the Mamlakhah (kingdom) of Paras (Persia):
36:21 To fulfil the Davar YHWH (יהוה) by the mouth of Yirmeyahu (ירמיהוּ), until the land had enjoyed her Shabbatot: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept Shabbat, to fulfil Shivim Shanah (70 years).
36:22 Now in the first year of Koresh (Cyrus) melekh Paras (Persia), that the word of YHWH (יהוה) [spoken] by the mouth of Yirmeyahu (ירמיהוּ) might be accomplished, YHWH (יהוה) stirred up the spirit of Koresh (Cyrus) melekh Paras (Persia), that he made a proclamation throughout all his Mamlakhah (kingdom), and [put it] also in writing, saying,
36:23 Thus saith Koresh (Cyrus) melekh Paras (Persia), All the kingdoms of the earth hath YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Yerushalayim, which [is] in Yehudah. Who [is there] among you of all his people? YHWH (יהוה) Elohav [be] with him, and let him go up.
