Title: A Song of the Redeemed

107:1 O Give thanks unto ADONAI (יהוה), for He is good, For His mercy and loving-kindess endures forever!

107:2 Let the redeemed of ADONAI (יהוה) say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary;

107:3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

Rescue for  those lost in the desert (vv. 4-9)

Refer the Yisrael wandering 40 yrs

107:4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

107:5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

107:6

Vayitzaku el-ADONAI batzar lahem mimtzukoteihem yatzilem:

Then they cried unto ADONAI (יהוה) in their trouble, He delivered them out from their distress.

107:7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place.

107:8

Yodu laADONAI khasdo venifleotav livnei adam:

Oh, that men would give thanks unto ADONAI (יהוה) for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

107:9 For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Rescue for those in prison (vv. 10-16)

Yisrael in Babylon - in exile

107:10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons,

107:11 Because they rebelled against the words of EL, And despised the counsel of the Most High:

107:12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

107:13

Then they cried unto ADONAI (יהוה) in their trouble, He delivered them from their distress.

107:14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

107:15

Yodu laADONAI khasdo venifleotav livnei adam:

Oh, that men would give thanks unto ADONAI (יהוה) for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

107:16 For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two. (Yeshayahu 45:2)

Recovery for those who are seriously ill (vv 17-22)

Speak of Yeshua who came to heal the sick, lame walk, blind see

*107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

*107:18 Their soul abhors all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

107:19

107:20 יִשְׁלַ֣ח דְּ֭בָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑ם וִֽ֝ימַלֵּ֗ט מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃ ̇׆

Yishlakh Devaro veyirpaem vimalet mishkhitotam:

He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. (Mattityahu 8:17)

107:21 יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ ̇׆

Yodu laADONAI khasdo venifleotav livnei adam:

Oh, that men would give thanks unto ADONAI (יהוה) for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

107:22 וְ֭יִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵ֣י תוֹדָ֑ה וִֽיסַפְּר֖וּ מַעֲשָׂ֣יו בְּרִנָּֽה׃ ̇׆
Veyizbekhu zivkhei todah visapru maasav berina:

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

107:23 יוֹרְדֵ֣י הַ֭יָּם בָּאֳנִיּ֑וֹת עֹשֵׂ֥י מְ֝לָאכָ֗ה בְּמַ֣יִם רַבִּֽים׃ ̇׆
Yordei hayam baoniyot osei melacha bemayim rabim:

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

107:24 הֵ֣מָּה רָ֭אוּ מַעֲשֵׂ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃ ̇׆
Hemah rau maasei ADONAI venifleotav bimtzulah:

These see the works of ADONAI, and his wonders in the deep.

107:25 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר וַֽ֭יַּעֲמֵד ר֣וּחַ סְעָרָ֑ה וַתְּרוֹמֵ֥ם גַּלָּֽיו׃ ̇׆

Vayomer vayaamed ruach searah vateromem galav:

He speaks, and the stormy wind arises, and its waves are lifted up.

107:26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

107:27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

107:28

Vayitzaku el-ADONAI batzar lahem umimtsukoteihem yotziem:

Then they cried unto ADONAI (יהוה) in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.

107:29 He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

107:30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven..

107:31

Yodu laADONAI khasdo venifleotav livnei adam:

Oh, that men would give thanks unto ADONAI (יהוה) for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

107:32 Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him in the assembly of the zekenim (elders).

107:33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

107:34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

107:35 He turns the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

107:36 There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place,

107:37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

107:38 He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease.

107:39 וַיִּמְעֲט֥וּ וַיָּשֹׁ֑חוּ מֵעֹ֖צֶר רָעָ֣ה וְיָגֽוֹן׃ ̇׆

Vayimatu vayashokhu meotzer raah veyagon:

When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction and sorrow,

107:40 He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;

107:41 Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock.

107:42 The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth.

107:43 Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the lovingkindness of ADONAI (יהוה).

The letter nun b itself, symbolizes Elohim sits on His Throne.  It is the “bent nun,” pictures the faithful ones who is bent, as in worship, and humility, and the straight nun illustrates the faithful one who is erect, who will stand faithful and upright,

when he faces the final Day of Judgment. Elohim  diligently observing the works, deeds, and acts of His people. 

̇׆ Two Inverted NUNS of Hebrew alphabet
(נו"ן מנוזרת "isolated nun" or נו"ן הפוכה "inverted nun" or "׆" in Hebrew) is a rare glyph used in classical Hebrew.

The inverted nun is not part of any word, and is never pronounced; thus it is classed as punctuation and not a letter.

Observe further that each of these stanzas is in five parts

First - Trouble is portrayed (4-5, 10-12;; 17 - 18)

Second - Prayer  - Cried unto ADONAI (6, 13, 19, 28)

Third - Divine help is given ( 7, 14, 20, 29, 30)

Fourth - Praise Hallei is called for ( 8, 15, 221, 31)

Fifth in the first two stanzas a reason is added "For" and in the last two stanzas an appeal is made "Let them" (22, 32)

Thought: It is good to know that Elohim is in control of the universe
