אודה יהוה בכל־לבב

בסוד ישׁרים ועדה׃

Odeh ADONAI bekhol-levav,

BeSod yesharim veedah:

I-will-give-thanks-to ADONAI (יהוה) with-all my -heart,

in-the-sod (council)-of-the-upright, and-the-assembly.

111:2

גדלים מעשׂי יהוה

דרושׁים לכל־חפציהם׃

Gedolim maasei ADONAI, 

Derushim lekhol-kheftzeihem:

Great-are the-works-of ADONAI

sought-out by-all who are-delighting-in-them .

111:3  

הוד־והדר פעלו

וצדקתו עמדת לעד׃

Hod-vehadar paolo 

vetzidkato omedet laad:

Honour and-majesty His work is,

And-His-righteousness is-standing for-ever.

111:4

זכר עשׂה לנפלאתיו

חנון ורחום יהוה׃

Zekher asah lenifleotav 

khanun verakhum ADONAI:

Remembrance He-made for-His-wondrous-works,

Gracious and-merciful is-ADONAI.

111:5  

טרף נתן ליראיו

יזכר לעולם בריתו׃

Teref natan lireav 

yizkor leolam berito:

Food He-gave to-those-fearing-Him,

He-will-remember for-ever His-covenant

111:6

כח מעשׂיו הגיד לעמו

לתת להם נחלת גוים׃

Koakh maasav higid leamo 

latet lahem nakhalat goyim

The-power-His-works of Him He-has-declared to-people of Him,

To-give to-them the-inheritance-of the-Gentiles.

111:7

מעשׂי ידיו אמת ומשׁפט

נאמנים כל־פקודיו׃

Maasei yadav emet umishpat 

neemanim kol-pikudav:

works-of -hands of Him are-truth and-judgement,

Ones being trustworthy are-all of-precepts of HiM.

111:8  

סמוכים לעד לעולם

עשׂוים באמת וישׁר׃

Semukhim laad leolam 

asuyim beemet veyashar:

They are-held for-ever for-ever,

Made in-truth and-uprightness

111:9

פדות שׁלח לעמו

צוה־לעולם בריתו

קדושׁ ונורא שׁמו׃

Pedut shalakh leamo 

tzivah-leolam berito 

kadosh venora shemo:

Redemption He-sent to-His-people,

He-commanded for-ever His-covenant;

Set Apart and-to-be-feared is-His-Name

111:10

ראשׁית חכמה יראת יהוה

שׂכל טוב לכל־עשׂיהם

תהלתו עמדת לעד׃

Reshit khakhma yirat ADONAI 

sekhel tov lekhol-oseihem 

tehilato omedet laad:

The-beginning-of wisdom is-the-fear-of  ADONAI (יהוה) ;

Understanding good is -to -all who -do -them;

His-praise is-standing for-ever.

The followings details should be noted for this chapter:

1. There are ten verses in the Psalm.
2. The first eight verses are couplets.
3. The last two verses are triplets.
4. These couplets and triplets make 22 lines, the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet.
5. Each line of the Psalm begins with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet in order, so giving the complete alphabet.
6. Sixteen of the 22 lines have each three words (hyphedned words being one), and six of them have each four words (1a 6 7a 10)

This Tehillim 111 and 112 are a pair. The structure is the same in both, but the emphasis is different.

The relation of these Psalm to one another is unmistakable, as the following points show:
