For the choir director. A Mizmor Daviyd sik'ah (complaint).

64:1 Shama my voice, O Elohim (אלהים) , in my si'akh (complaint): preserve my Chayim (life) from pachad (terror, dread) of the oyev (enemy).

64:2 Hide me from the sod (secret counsel, conspiracy) of the wicked; from the rigshah (insurrection, noisy crowd, assembly) of the workers of aven (iniquity, evildoers):

64:3 Who sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] bend [their bows to yara (shoot)] their chetz (arrow)s, [even] davar mar (bitter words):

64:4 That they may yara (shoot) in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they yara (shoot) at him, and pachad (terror, dread) not.

64:5 They encourage themselves [in] ra'ah davar (evil speech): they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

64:6 They search out Divrei avonot (Words of iniquities); they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward [thought] of every one [of them], and the heart, [is] deep.

64:7 But Elohim shall yara (shoot) at them [with] an chetz (arrow); suddenly shall they be wounded.

64:8 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

64:9 And all men shall pachad (terror, dread), and shall declare the work of Elohim (אלהים) ; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

64:10 The tzaddik shall be glad in YHWH (יהוה), and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall Kavod (glory).
