To the Chief Musician. Set to "The Lilies." A Psalm of David.

For the choir director; according to Shoshannim unto David.

69:1

69:2 Hoshi'eini! (Save me הושׁיעני), O Elohim (אלהים); for the waters are come in unto [my] nefesh.

69:3 I sink in deep mire (mud), where [there is] no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

69:4 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my Elohim (אלהים).

69:5 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, [being] mine oyevim (enemies) wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored [that] which I took not away.

69:6 O Elohim (אלהים), thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from Thee.

69:7 Let not them that wait on Thee,  Adonay (אדני) YHWH (יהוה) Tzva'ot, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek Thee be confounded for my sake, O Elohim (אלהים) of Yisrael.

69:8 Because for Thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.

69:9 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.

69:10 Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

69:11 When I wept, [and chastened] my nefesh with fasting, that was to my reproach.

69:12 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.

69:13 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I [was] the song of the drunkards.

69:14 But as for me, my tefillah [is] unto thee, O YHWH (יהוה), [in] et ratzon(an acceptable time): O Elohim (אלהים), in the multitude of Thy mercy hear me, in the emet (truth) YisheKha (Thy Salvation).

69:15 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

69:16 Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

69:17 Hear me, O YHWH (יהוה); for Thy lovingkindness [is] good: turn unto me according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies.

69:18 And hide not Thy face from Thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.

69:19 Draw nigh unto my nefesh, [and] redeem it: deliver me because of mine oyevim (enemies).

69:20 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries [are] all before Thee.

69:21 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked [for some] to take pity, but [there was] none; and for comforters, but I found none.

69:22 They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

69:23 Let their table become a snare before them: and [that which should have been] for [their] welfare, [let it become] a trap.

69:24 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

69:25 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let Thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

69:26 Let their habitation be desolate; [and] let none dwell in their tents.

69:27 For they persecute [him] whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom Thou hast wounded.

69:28 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into Thy tzedekah.

69:29 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the tzadikim.

69:30

vaani ani ve kho yeshu'atKha,

But I [am] poor and sorrowful:

Elohim tesagveni:

O Elohim (אלהים), set me up on high.

69:31 I will praise the Name Elohim (אלהים) with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

69:32 [This] also shall please YHWH (יהוה) better than an ox [or] bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

69:33 The humble shall see [this, and] be glad: and your heart shall live that seek Elohim (אלהים).

69:34 For YHWH (יהוה) heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

69:35 Let the shamayim and eretz praise HIM, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.

69:36 For Elohim (אלהים) will save Tzyon, and will build the cities of Yehudah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

69:37 The zera also of His avadim shall inherit it: and they that love His Name shall dwell therein.
