Elohim bau goyim benakhalateKha timu et-heikhal kadshekha samu et-Yerushalam leiyim:
O Elohim (אלהים), the gentiles
have come into
Your inheritance; They have defiled Your Set-Apart Temple; they have
maded Yerushalayim heaps of ruins.
79:2 The dead bodies of Your servants -- They have given as food for the birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your faithful ones to the wild beasts of the earth.
79:3 They have poured out their blood like water all all around Yerushalayim; and there was none to bury them.
79:4 We have become a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a mockery to those who are around us.
79:5 Ad-mah YEHOVAH teenaf lanetzakh tivar kemo-esh kinatekha:
How long, YEHOVAH (יהוה)? Would You be enraged forever? shall Your jealousy burn like fire?
79:6 Pour out Your wrath upon the gentiles who have not known Thee, And upon the kingdoms that have not called upon Thy Name.
79:7 For they have devoured Yaakov, and laid waste his dwelling place.
79:8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let Thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
79:9 Help us, O Elohim (אלהים) of our salvation, for the glory of Thy Name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for Thy Name's sake.
79:10 Why should the gentiles say: "Where is their Elohim?" Let the vengeance of the outpoured blood of Thy servants be known among the gentiles, in our sight.
79:11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Thee. According to the greatness of Thy power preserve those who are doomed to die.
79:12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached Thee, O Adonay (אדני).
79:13 So we Thy people and sheep of Thy pasture will give Thee thanks forever: we will shew forth Thy praise to all generations.
