19:1 And the second lot came forth to Shimon (שׁמעון), [even] for the tribe of the benai Shimon (שׁמעון) according to their mishpekhot: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the benai Yehudah.
19:2 And they had in their inheritance Beer Sheva, or Sheva, and Moladah,
19:3 And Hatzar-Shu'al, and Balah, and Etzem,
19:4 And El-Tolad, and Beit'ul, and Hormah,
19:5 And Ziklag, and Beit-Markavot, and Hatzar-Susah,
19:6 And Beit-Levaot, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:
19:7 Ain, Remmon, and Eter, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:
19:8 And all the villages that [were] round about these cities to Ba'alat-beer, Ramat of the south. This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the benai Shimon (שׁמעון) according to their mishpekhot.
19:9 Out of the portion of the benai Yehudah [was] the inheritance of the benai Shimon (שׁמעון): for the part of the benai Yehudah was too much for them: therefore the benai Shimon (שׁמעון) had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
19:10 And the third lot came up for the benai Zevulun according to their mishpekhot: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
19:11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbashet, and reached to the river that [is] before Yokneam;
19:12 And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Kislot-Tabor, and then goeth out to Daverat, and goeth up to Yafia,
19:13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gat-Hefer, to Et-Katzin, and goeth out to Rimmon-Methoar to Neah;
19:14 And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannaton: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Yiftah'el:
19:15 And Kattat, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Yid'alah, and Beit-Lechem: twelve cities with their villages.
19:16 This [is] the inheritance of the benai Zevulun according to their mishpekhot, these cities with their villages.
19:17 [And] the fourth lot came out to Yissakhar, for the benai Yissakar according to their mishpekhot.
19:18 And their border was toward Yezreel, and Kesullot, and Shunem,
19:19 And Hafarayim, and Shion, and Anaharat,
19:20 And Rabbit, and Kishyon, and Evetz,
19:21 And Remet, and Ein-Gannim, and Ein-Haddah, and Beit-pazzez;
19:22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beit-Shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Yarden: sixteen cities with their villages.
19:23 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the benai Yissakar according to their mishpekhot, the cities and their villages.
19:24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the benai Asher according to their mishpekhot.
19:25 And their border was Helkat, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaf
19:26 And Alam-Melek, and Amad, and Mishal; and reacheth to Karmel westward, and to Shihor-Libnat;
19:27 And turneth toward the sunrising to Beit-Dagon, and reacheth to Zevulun, and to the valley of Yiftah'el toward the north side of Beit-Emek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Kavul on the left hand,
19:28 And Hevron, and Rehov, and Hammon, and Kanah, [even] unto great Tzidon;
19:29 And [then] the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong Ir Tzor; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achziv:
19:30 Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehov: twenty and two cities with their villages.
19:31 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the benai Asher according to their mishpekhot, these cities with their villages.
19:32 The sixth lot came out to the benai Naftali, [even] for the benai Naftali according to their mishpekhot.
19:33 And their coast was from Helef, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekev, and Yavne'el, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Yarden:
19:34 And [then] the coast turneth westward to Aznot Tabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zevulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Yehudah upon Yarden toward the sunrising.
19:35 And the fenced cities [are] Zidim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkat, and Kinneret,
19:36 And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
19:37 And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Ein-Hazor,
19:38 And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Beit-Anat, and Beit-Shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
19:39 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the benai Naftali according to their mishpekhot, the cities and their villages.
19:40 [And] the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the benai Dan according to their mishpekhot.
19:41 And the coast of their inheritance was Tzor'ah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-Shemesh,
19:42 And Shaalabbin, and Ayalon, and Yitlah,
19:43 And Elon, and Timnah, and Ekron,
19:44 And Eltekeh, and Giv'ton, and Ba'alat,
19:45 And Yehud, and Beni-Berak, and Gat-Rimmon,
19:46 And Yarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Yafo.
19:47 And the coast of the benai Dan went out [too little] for them: therefore the benai Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
19:48 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the benai Dan according to their mishpekhot, these cities with their villages.
19:49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the benai Yisrael gave an inheritance to Yehoshua Ben Nun among them:
19:50 According to the word of YHWH (יהוה) they gave him the city which he asked, [even] Timnat-Serah in mount Efrayim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
19:51 These [are] the inheritances, which Eleazar ha Kohen, and Yehoshua Ben Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the benai Yisrael, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before YHWH (יהוה), at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
Dagon was a major northwest Semitic god, reportedly a god of grain and agriculture, worshipped by the early Amorites, by the people of Ebla and Ugarit, and a major god, perhaps the chief god, of the Biblical Philistines
