33:1 Moreover the Dvar ADONAI (יהוה) came to YirmeYahu (ירמיה) the second time, while he was yet shut up in the khatzer (courtyard) of the bayit hakeleh (prison), saying,
33:2 Thus said ADONAI (יהוה) the maker thereof, ADONAI (יהוה) that formed it, to establish it; ADONAI (יהוה) [is] His Name;
33:3 Kara (call) to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you knows not.
33:4 For thus said ADONAI (יהוה):
Elohim (אלהים) Yisrael, concerning the batim of this city, and concerning the batim of ha melekhim of Yehudah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
33:5 They come to fight with the Kasim (Chaldeans), but [it is] to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
33:6 Hinei, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal to them the abundance of shalom and Emet.
33:7 And I will cause the captivity of Yehudah and the captivity of Yisrael to return, and will build them, as at the first.
33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
33:9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I accomplish (procure) to it.
33:10 Thus said ADONAI (יהוה); Again there shall be heard in this place, which you say [shall be] desolate without man and without beast, [even] in the cities of Yehudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
33:11 Kol (קול voice of) sasson (exultation), and Kol simcha (joy), Kol chasan (חתן brigegroom), and Kol Kallah (כּלּה bride), the voice of them that shall say, Yadayim ADONAI (יהוה) Tzva'os: for ADONAI (יהוה) [is] good; for His chesed (חסד) [endureth] l'olam (forever): [and] of them that shall bring the todah (sacrifice of praise, thanks) into ha bayit ADONAI (יהוה). For I will cause to return the captivity of the eretz, as at the first, said ADONAI (יהוה).
33:12 Thus said ADONAI (יהוה) Tzva'ot; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of ro'im (shepherds) causing [their] flocks to lie down.
33:13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the shefelah (lowland valley שׁפלה), and in the cities of the negev (south), and in the eretz Ben Yamin, and in the places about Yerushalayim, and in the cities of Yehudah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth [them], said ADONAI (יהוה).
33:14 Hinei, the days come, declares ADONAI (יהוה), that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to ha bayit Yisrael and to ha bayit Yehudah.
33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Tzemach (branch) Tzedakah to grow up to David; and he shall execute mishpat and tzedakah in the eretz.
33:16 In those days shall Yehudah be saved, and Yerushalayim shall dwell safely: and this [is the name] wherewith she shall be called, ADONAI (יהוה) Our tzedakah.
33:17 For thus said ADONAI (יהוה); David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of ha bayit Yisrael;
33:18 Neither shall the Kohenim Leviim want a man before me to offer olot, and to kindle mincha, and to do sacrifice continually.
33:19 And Dvar ADONAI (יהוה) came to YirmeYahu (ירמיה), saying,
33:20 Thus said ADONAI (יהוה); If you can break My Brit of the day, and my Brit of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
33:21 [Then] may also My Brit be broken with David My eved, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Leviim the Kohenim, my ministers.
33:22 As the host of shamayim cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David My eved, and the Leviim that minister to me.
33:23 Moreover Dvar ADONAI (יהוה) came to YirmeYahu (ירמיה), saying,
33:24 Considerest you not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which ADONAI (יהוה) has chosen, he has even cast them off? thus they have despised My people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
33:25 Thus said ADONAI (יהוה); If My Brit [be] not with day and night, [and if] I have not appointed the ordinances of shamayim and earth;
33:26Then will I cast away the seed of Ya'akov (יעקוב), and David My eved, [so] that I will not take [any] of his seed [to be]rulers over the seed of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Ya'akov (יעקב) : for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
